My Dr. read my report tonight at 8:21 - good news/bad news for me
A. LEFT AXILLA LYMPH NODE, CORE BIOPSY:
REACTIVE LYMPH NODE TISSUE.
B. LEFT BREAST, 7 O'CLOCK, BIOPSY:
BENIGN BREAST TISSUE WITH FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES.Being referred to Onologist for further testing of lymph node which is my biggest fear.

i truly understand , I get my results tomorrow and it’s been a long road waiting. My prayers to you for Tuesday hope you have B9 results, keep us posted.

Hey everyone, thanks for being part of such a supporting community. I'm fine, but I hate this weighing over my head. Her breast is swollen with what we hope is an infection, and she's bruised up pretty bad from the 5 samples taken. Plus she's apparently allergic to the numbing agent and has a rash that's bugging her. She was on antibiotics nearly two weeks ago, and she says the pain is better after having been on them. That seems like it could be encouraging.
She's handling it better than I am, but I know it's bugging her. I fully expect to hear tomorrow. They told us it would be "2-3 days" and that was Wednesday. In a strange way, it almost seems like it would be a relief to know, even it's the news we don't want.
Cycling, I'm sorry the your results weren't as good as you wanted. I hope your further testing gives you better news.
It's kind of like a bad dream that just won't end. Everyone hang in there. I know we can get through this.
-
cycling so sorry to hear your results. Hopefully onc will have some encouraging news
Shyann...I'll be thinking about you today
Deb, you and I looks like will be hanging out til Tuesday biting our nails
Bowser, hang in there and prayers for good news
-
As I'm waiting, I'm thinking of the many survivors I know. A friend at work who had a serious form of breast cancer 10 years ago. You'd never know it by seeing her today, and she reminded me that treatment as advanced even in the ten years since she fought it. I have three other friends who also went through it with varying degrees of severity. They're all in great shape today.
I find that encouraging, and hope that while we wait some of you can find that encouraging also.
-
That is very encouraging :-)
-
I got the best news ever I do NOT have canser , I do have a tumor and will be removed next Wednesday but thank you all for your prayers and I will continue to pray hard for each and everyone of you for the best out come ever. I have a new respect on life and for what each of you are going through. Best wishes for a merry Christmas ladies
-
That is awesome news:-) hope to see more of those posts while waiting!
-
So happy for you Shyann! A very merry Christmas present! I just got my results as well and not so lucky. The preliminary report is DCIS and they sent the sample to Nashville for a second opinion to make sure its not IBC. So as bad as that is, I am hopeful that its DCIS only. Nothing I have read indicates that DCIS can cause the swelling and redness that I have however, my PCP said it may just be my bodies response to something it doesn't like. So here I am, one toe in the "waiting for results" and one toe in the "just diagnosed". Sigh
-
oh I’m so sorry I will surly send special prayers your way for a quick recovery and for you and everyone for a bit of good news and thank you for your reply god bless yo
-
Pharmgirl I hope DCIS is your answer as well! I’m nervous about IBC with my wife’s condition. She did see a small amount of improvement after antibiotics. She still has symptoms 2 weeks later though, but her Dr. told her it can tak time for breast infections to improve.
I hope that in your situation that it’s possible that the presence of DCIS caused an infection that’s just not responding to the antibiotics.
I hate it that they can’t tell you know about the IBC, but my guess is that the evidence points to DCIS and sending the sample to Nashville is a formality to confirm what the evidence already suggests.
What is your time frame on your results as you play the waiting game again...?
shyann, thanks for the good report. I’m glad to hear it!

thank you,yes me too 🙏🏻

Hi! I have been reading posts on here for weeks and finally decided to join in the fun. I had a mammogram in September and was immediately called back for additional imaging the next morning. No problem, I thought - that's common. New doctor, new state - they want a baseline. Magnified views showed tight cluster of microcalcifications and a core biopsy was recommended and performed in October after they did an ultrasound of the right breast. The core biopsy was done and the results came back as Flat Epithelial Atypia. Since that can be found concurrently alongside higher risk lesions, they scheduled an appointment with the surgeon for an excisional biopsy. She ordered an MRI which resulted in 2 places on the left breast that had 'medium uptake with mixed washout kinetics' and one that had rapid uptake - one BIRAD 4, the other BIRAD 3. Watch and wait for 6 months. Neat. The surgery for the calcifications was done the day before Thanksgiving - no additional time off work needed and enough family and turkey to keep me distracted until the results were due back last week. No joke - they still don't have them back. They said it's been sent to another lab for additional staining and as so many of us here know - STAY OFF THE INTERNET if you hope to maintain any semblance of a normal life while waiting for results. It's absolutely awful. I have felt like a lab rat for 2 solid months now.
My follow up appointment has been rescheduled from tomorrow to Thursday in the hopes the results are back in by then. My birth mom just had a lumpectomy and starts radiation this week and my adoptive mom actually just finished chemo, radiation, lumpectomy, whole nine yards. It's been very hard to feel like "It's all precautionary" applies here when I have been surrounded by cancer for the last year. I try to keep my spirits up, but it's hard some days. Like today.
I love the idea of supporting each other through the worries and possible diagnoses. Peace and love to all of you - there is strength in numbers, ladies. Let's meditate this crap out!
XO

Dear Kimberlydawn0908,
Welcome to the BCO community. We are glad that you reached out here and shared your story. You are in good company with our members who truly share one another's experiences. Please keep us posted on what you learn and we do hope you receive results on Thursday. The Mods

Gave up and called the clinic, they had the wrong contact info, but results are still not in. Told me it will likely be another 1-2 days.
Kimberlydawn0908: I agree with you that staying off the internet is a good idea. I've already made that mistake, and regret it.
Let us know once you hear, and I hope you have your answer soon.....
-
Bowser, looks like you and I waiting again. It sounds like your wife and I have very similar symptoms. My redness and swelling literally showed up over night. I was put on keflex for a week with marginal results and then out on Bactrim that I'm just finishing up today with marginal results as well. Luckily, they didn't wait for the second antibiotic to begin suspecting something else. I asked the doctor today is DCIS would cause the redness and swelling and she said it might just be my body reacting to something it doesn' like. Which clinically speaking I guess makes sense. I have an appt with the breast surgeon on thursday and hopefully we will have the final results then and can figure out a plan. My husband doesn' want to tell the kids or my parents yet until we are able to better answer their questions. So here we are again bowser......We both need to stay off the internet while we wait!!!! I'l be sending prayers for you and your wife.
Kim....welcome!!! I' sorry you are going through this but welcome to our waiting game. We will be here to support you and you are right...stay off the internet....webMD is not our friend! Lol. We can sit on pins and needles together waiting for Thursday!

checking in on Deb and Breastintentions....any word?
-
I just got pathology report.
Atypical lobular hyperplasia, with duct involvement.
Adenosis with micro calcifications
Deeper sections examined.
What does this mean?
-
- Pharmgirl69 thank you no results yet the waiting is torture I think it’s going to come back b9 just the different descriptive words worry me irregular/curvilinear and some are good so at this point I’m just driving myself crazy with the what if and the sleepless nites aren’t helping thank you hoping tomorrow :
-
Hi Pharngirl69, my appointment for results is only on Friday. 3 weeks is a long wait but the closer it gets the more anxious I feel. Wish this part was over, waiting is debilitating. It is however encouraging to see some positive results come back. I find it especially difficult not knowing what to expect at the next appointment....do you get results and go home and digest that, do they run more tests, blood work, biopsies...
When my aunt got her results they wanted to book her in the same day for a mastectomy, she hadn't even processed her diagnosis.... Crazy. Anyway I think the unknown makes me most anxious. Well till Friday...
In the meantime best wishes to everyone else receiving their results, praying four b9 results for all x

Hope it is ok if I join here.
I felt a lump about 3 weeks ago. I'm post menopausal so no hormonal fluctuations during the month. I waited a week...yep, still there. Made appt with gyn. Yes, she feels it also and makes appointment with breast specialist. She said it almost felt like a ridge. I didn't even know what that was. I had my mammo that day. It came back inconclusive. Nurse calls and gyn wants me to have another mammo and us before appt with breast specialist. I have them done. Today I have appt with breast specialist which I now know is breast surgeon....so glad I didn't realize that sooner. She does her own ultrasound. She can feel and see the lump. She says she also sees a dilated duct. I have stayed off Dr. Google so I don't know any questions to ask. I am scheduled for a biopsy the next morning. This afternoon nurse from gyn calls and tells me 2nd mammo and us are normal. By then, I had been on Dr. Google and knew to ask for BIRADS. She says 2. I tell her that I am having biopsy. So now I don't know what to think. I'm praying B9 since BIRAD 2. But, have bc in family history and lump is palpable to everyone. Gyn also did genetic testing but not back yet. Thanks for letting me vent since I can't sleep.
-
Hi jdragr! We're sorry you are here and worried, but wanted to say that you are more than welcome to come and vent whenever you please! This wonderful Community is always here to help.
We're sending you good vibes for B9 results! Please, let us know how it all goes.

Just got the call. She said invasive mammary carcinoma, outside of the duct it started in. It’s in a few lymph nodes also. She also said it had “loblular?” Features. She couldn’t give me much more than that, saying the surgeon would need to speak to those issues. She’s a teacher, I won’t be able to talk with her until late this afternoon (which is why she had them call me)
I have no idea if it’s common, or agreesive or what. Her last mammogram was in June and it was clear.
I guess the good news is that she said the pathology does not suggest IBC. At least the waiting is over in a way, but it’s almost sounds like we won’t know more until after surgury? About to leave work and try to process this, i’m sick to my stom
-
Bowser, I'm so sorry for the diagnosis. Not what we were hoping for but you have this community to support you both during this time. I'l be sending warm thoughts and hugs to you both
-
Hi everyone,
Sorry to be quite for a bit. I've been a bit overwhelmed trying to pull together paperwork, test results, etc...and get a doctor. The good news is that I have an appointment tomorrow morning at Dana Farber in Boston with a surgeon who treated an ex-colleague of mine (who pulled strings to get me in so quickly). I am hoping that they will do the pagets biopsy while I am there tomorrow, since my treatment is completely different depending on yes or no to pagets. I will try to post an update tomorrow night.
Shyanne - Soooooo happy for your b9 results! Glad we were here to lend some support during the waiting time.
Deb -- I think you were expecting results today? I'm sending you good thoughts, let us know how everything goes.
Pharmgirl -- thanks for checking in about how I was feeling the other day, and sorry to be late in responding. Looks like we are going to be DCIS sisters. I have found the first tagged posting under the "just diagnosed" forum to have a lot of helpful tips on how to get organized and start taking an active role in our care. Take a look at it. I also started reading more and posting a bit under the DCIS forum. Let us know when you get the results back from Nashville and check in after your Thursday appointment. Mine is tomorrow, so we can compare notes.
Cycling -- i'm sorry your results weren't b9, and I'm not familiar enough with what your report said to even know what to suggest. I hope you are reaching out on other threads to get support and information. When is your oncology apt scheduled?
Breast intentions -- I totally understand the feeling of being rushed in this process. I'll hope that Friday brings good results for you. And if not, then I will be glad to share with you the "next steps" that I will have gone through this week.
KimberlyD -- welcome and let us know how your appointment goes on Thursday.
Busytoday - welcome to you also. I have seen a poster called DJMammo who has helped a lot of people understand the lingo in various reports. Do a search for him and maybe send him a note or a post? Information is power, so you should also reach out to your dr and ask for an explanation.
Bowser - separate post coming for you next. My heart is with you.
-
Dear Bowser,
I wanted to send a stand alone note to you so it didn't get lost in my other long post. First, I want to say that I am sorry that the results weren't b9. I am still trying to deal with the overwhelming feelings that came up when I got my dx on Friday, so I understand that pit in your stomach. Second, I want to let you know that I feel your participation in our group is meaningful and helpful. Hearing about how your wife's health is impacting you reminds me that my testing, and now my diagnosis and treatment, involves more than just me. It touches others around me, and that is good to remember. I am also moved by the love and concern that you have for your wife and I think you two are going to make a strong team to deal with this situation together.
Sometime tomorrow, please go read the "get prepared" post under the "Just Diagnosed" thread (it is right at the top). I found it very helpful in terms of providing good info, but also because it made me feel like there were some things that I could start to do and not feel so paralyzed.
Also, insist on a copy of the biopsy / pathology report. Words will be going in and out of your brain at the start, and it is important that you have the report so that you can keep things straight. Call them from work and get them to email or fax a copy to you if you can.
We're here for you and sending you strength and support.

Home from biopsy. She did core sample with ultrasound. Took 8. She said she would call me Thursday. So now the wait. This is a weird place to be. In limbo...
