New ADH previous IDC
Comments

Hi, I'm new here and concerned... I had IDC in the right breast in 2011 at the age of 31. I did lumpectomy and full treatment.
I just had reconstructive surgery and the pathology for the left breast showed multiple areas of ADH. Has anyone had this before? ADH post previous cancer DX. I see onc in a few days but to be honest I'm concerned. with my history and I'm only 38 I'm not sure what he'll suggest and I'm not sure If I want to push being aggressive... Thanks everyone.

Hi Heather_Feather-
We certainly understand why you're concerned! We just wanted to let you know that we're thinking of you, and we hope the appointment with the oncologist goes the way you hope. Please keep us posted!

Hi Heather. I'm not sure if this helps at all, but during my lumpectomy they also found ALH. My surgeon and RO don't seem concerned, they think radiation and hormone therapy, which I'm already having, will control it. I meet my MO on Thursday and will share anything I find out.
Your oncologist should be able to help answer your questions, and if you are already on tamoxifen or an AI perhaps that is enough?
All best wishes.

Thank you I'm a few years out already. My original cancer was in the right breast and I did chemo and radiation and Herceptin.
I cannot take tamoxifen due to being Her2 Positive. I thought I was all done and was having reconstructive surgery and the pathology from that showed the ADH in the opposite breast. I'm pretty bummed so We'll see what my onc says tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for you.

Heather_Feather,
I hope your Dr recommends an MRI for further examination if you have not had one already. Thinking of you and good luck.

Thanks so much, saw my Onc yesterday and he is on the fence regarding tamoxifan or mastectomy.
He is going to do a round table with heads of surgery, onc, and radiology and get their opinions as well.
I'll see him in a few weeks to decide.

Being HER2 positive doesn't preclude you from taking Tamoxifen. I see that you were hormone negative so that's most likely why you weren't on some type of therapy.
I hope they have some good options for you.
