    I use 100% effectively, fusiden, which is a prescription antibiotic cream.

    Consider a biopsy besides cultures to make sure you are dealing with the right thing. Rule out the Lichen sclerosis and lichen planus. The treatment for both is topical steroids. Won't be cured by anything else. Ask for a dermatopathologist reading.

    Keep in mind that you may have more than one thing going on. Good Luck!

    thanks sas! Good point From my understanding, lichen sclerosis does not have discharge as an effect, us that right? It's probably my most consistent symptom.

    I think the discharge must be from the Tamoxifen

    I was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis (although a biopsy was not found to be positive for it but the surgeon said it was anyway). Riddle me that one!!

    You're right, Lichen Sclerosis, does not cause vaginal discharge... but tamoxifen does. Lichen Sclerosis, causes desert like dryness and white patches and cracking - Lovely extra symptoms to deal with - like we don't have enough.

    Goodp, lichen sclerosis is pain like no other. Mine was caused by radiation therapy. Very long story. The whole vulva and butt turned to paper overnight (really a few day). Twice a day application of prescription level steroids was it's treatment. The key for dx is a dermatopathologist. A regular pathologist may screw the dx up. I had two different docs for the dx. Dermatologist whose used to doing skin bx's and then for added measure b/c it wasn't being totally controlled I went to a gynoncologist. A second opinion who did another bx. Between the two docs I got on the right path. I see each of them once a year now.

    The discharge should be able to be cultured or smeared by the regular GYN doc. Culture for trichonomas, STD's, Bacteria, HPV. Clhahmydia(spelling way off) PAP. Some don't apply (no discharge), but what the heck. Get everything that can apply for that area done.at one time.

    I may have written a whole thing on Lichen, I'll check
