    I can't believe how this thread has kept on going after all this time. Its proof that there is no cure for Stupid.

    I nearly peed my panties when I read the one about DEMONS and generational sin. My god , we could have saved billions on research My new standard reply to every one of those off the wall stupid comments about how to beat cancer or what causes it. I tell them" There are two sides to the cancer issue. There is science and then there is bullshit. I know where you stand".

    My travel agent recently commented that BC is the best cancer to get because it's 99% curable. I told her " That's magical math. 99% . The BEST cancer kills about 47,000 women annually .It would also mean that almost 4.7 million women are cured annually. Your numbers don't add up . I hate to think what your checkbook looks like."

    If anyone is wondering what's up with RaiderGirl. I'm well and heavily involved in a local group Charlenes Dream Cancer Support Center. I'm Eliani in the team page.

    I even made the newspaper last month without getting arrested first. HomeTown News

    I checked out the links above. Charlenen’s Dream look’s like a beautiful place. What a gift the donation of the building is! Might not want to tell the church about the demon connection to health issues. Haha

    The mission statement and services seem unique, warm and welcoming. I hope you bring your fabulous sense of humor and wit to your role and support groups.

    It says a lot about Charlene that she left such a beautiful legacy.

    This thread is one that has certainly lived on. Sad that it has to! Glad it is here.

    bride, way to go with the comeback!! I wish I were quick on my feet like that. I'm always so dumbfounded that something like that was said that it takes me awhile to recover, then even longer to think up a retort, and by then the moment has passed. Could you hang out with me all the time and whisper good comebacks in my ear?

    Bride, I just wrote this newsy update and it went to the computer graveyard. Always the next post gets real short. No new cancers since the thyroid in 2014. Hell to pay with the RAI -131 for the treatment. It caused problems that till end of 2016. The problem will be permanent. But it's manageble now. Certainly better than it was.

    Still with Donnie, 5 1/2 years. I don't know if you remember stories of me throwing his clothes over the fence. Haven't done that in a few years. But I did throw his clothes over the front drive a couple months ago. Other than that we do good together. Great nookie. @ 67, I'm no fool. That's hard to come by at any age. I'd be hard pressed to kick him to the curb.

    Raidergirl, you dickens..........all this time you bugger, you've been lurking. Girl cream pie in your face. But love it that you dropped in. The thread went for awhile after you left, but then went pretty quiet. I knew you went back to work and figured you were out of here. Which happens. There are many I wonder about because they never said goodbye. Janet-in-Virginia was one. She was a corker, then gone, but well. But others too.

    I took a break last year for a number of months till spring. Never (?) logged in.. Came back b/c there was a problem on my home social thread. That solved itself fairly quickly.

    Breaks are totally understood, but going MIA here on BCO, leaves those that are posting with you even occasionally wondering. Lurkers too. Since we always will forever be having this stupid cancer in the foreground or the background. MIA is tough b/c we miss you (and Bride), but it brings up insecurities of our own sudden turn of events and demise.

    Okay, off the soapbox

A successful thread hit's a need or a nerve. Stupid comments hit a nerve. Generally, Mods threads never show well.

    Bride, first and foremost, I was flabbergasted to read of the ignorant, unsolicited comment that woman made. Your feisty response cracked me up!

    Second, I, too, am apparently a dirty, dirty gal since I developed an opportunistic fungal infection on my big toe nail during chemo. Did you find a solution that worked? I have some healthy growth at the base of the nail so perhaps it will resolve on its own, but I've been dismayed to read about how ineffective most treatments are, including the expensive prescription pills. At least sandal season is over.

    My dirty friend VLH, if you have healthy growth at the base you might want to consider having the majority of the nail removed. Topical antibiotics did the trick for me when oral antibiotics did nothing. There's another reason to get rid of the toe nail — infected toe nails, especially those involving the big toe, put you at a much higher risk of developing a hammer toe or even causing you to over-pronate which means cookies and all that fun stuff. Wish I had known that earlier...

    The hammertoe ship sailed and sunk long ago due to a nasty encounter with a dog crate during a late night visit to the loo. I finally went to the doctor when the stupid toe still hurt six weeks later. Turns out it was broken and had already healed in a gnarled position. I appreciate the suggestions though and am glad the antibiotics helped your cruddy toe.

    Yes, I've gained plenty after treatments. I was asked today at the grocery store, "When is your due date". Um, first of all I'm no longer a spring chicken in my 50s and post menopausal. Certainty don't look young enough to be pregnant. The woman who asked it was heavier than me. Why would you ask such a question!

    VLH-I second having most if not all of the nail removed. I fought with a toenail fungus through a regular round of oral anti-fungal meds, and 2-30 day rounds (which I had to beg and plead with my doc to get). I changed everything that was listed as possible contamination sources so I really think it was just a tough one to get rid of the whole time. Finally had toenail removed and the podiatrist gave me an antifungal cream to rub on the exposed skin daily. No problems since. Good luck!

    I have lost quite a bit of weight due to chemo. Today at Thanksgiving dinner someone said “I wish I had cancer". Sigh.

    Thanks, Lula. I have 13 medical appointments squished in before year end so doubt I'll be able to see a podiatrist, too. The nail is ugly though.

    I don't want to detract from the main topic, but, Lula, what contamination sources were suggested? I already change my socks daily or wear none at all, I threw out my slippers and washed my New Balance clogs since I sometimes slip those on to take out the garbage and quick tasks like that. The product used to clean the shower contains bleach. What am I missing?

    VLH-nail files, nail clippers, cuticle snippers, and nail polish. If you get pedicures, bring your own supplies with you for the technician to use.

    Hi, I have had toenail fungus for a long time but docs wouldn't treat it. First was due to previous med I was on and now due to current stage iv diagnosis. They said only thing for sure that helps is an oral pill but very hard on liver. I have tried many home remedies and can't get rid of it. I just learned of a laquer to put on( need prescription) that works 50 percent of time. No doctor ever mentioned taking the nail off. I may look into that.
