Mel i cannot imagine having a squeezing - mamo right after this procedure.

Today i went in again, there was more fluid, half a large syringe, not clear but bloody, it could be that a drop of blood made it look bloody. It still hurts, i really hope it gets better with time, i'll give it a good few days, it's def manageable but i feel like i have a wire there. After he took it out, i felt such pain in the palm of my hand, incredible how it's all related and some weird feeling in my arm, it did go away within a half hr. I think i'll put on some A&D ointment on the scar? It's still kind of fresh.

I, like all of us, just truly cannot afford this nonsense.

I think it's funny he said i should see him in 6 mos, np, but this particular papiloma was ocult, not bloody discharge, so he would not be able to see it. Mamo only in 1 yr.

    hi Mel,

I had a lumpectomy when I was 20. The pain after was not bad, I think I just took tylenol. IF anything I think I was tired from the stress leading up to it.

    Best of luck on Monday!

Mel good for you - got any results back from the Mamo.

So this is where I'm at, a mm of tiny puss in the center and end of the cut, I've been putting neosporin cream on the scar, some parts a little red, he told me it's not necessary the cream or bandage, i think he's wrong. It's still sensitive, i won't have it rub against the bra, at night i left it uncovered. It hurts, the nipple really hurts or call it sensitive, like really a lot. i can't bare it to touch a/t, i put on a little round pad that i had to take off make up to protect it, it does just a bit. I'm trying to read about this nipple sensitivity, I did find some entries of ppl that had it, why would that happen, i wonder? How can we make it feel better? I could def handle it and go on with my life, BUT IT's THERE all the time. When i told my good doc about it, he did what all good docs do, he pooh pooh it away, like if i'm the only one with this issue. Hmm sorry to be so blunt, but if his... whatever would be engorged all the time i don't think he'd take it kindly.

And i'm coming to realized that this whole thing could take a while to heal. I feel pain in the scar area, period, but like i said the nipple is so sensitive that it's giving my brain a bit of confusion. I still feel my hand pulling, it does not hurt. But the scar feels fresh, you guys had this issue also?

    Thanks ladies,

mamallthetime, I had nipple sensitivity for almost 4 weeks! I think it's due to the periareolar incision. I wore the compression bra for 3 1/2 weeks because it felt better. My actual incison looked great but for awhile it was inflamed and almost felt like a keloid underneath..but now just a thin scar along the periareolar. I put new steri strips after the first ones fell off because it felt better I'm just getting theses sharp pangs of pain..where the lesion was, clips? Im sure the surgeon will say not possible.

My mammo results were given the same day.. surgical changes with 10 clips in place, no area if suspicion. They are going by the adh margins and will use the clips to figure out where. I'm waiting for breast mri. I requested one before going further. I asked a surgeon at work his opinion and he told me the same thing, it has to come out and he would do breast MRI. So I'm happy I requested it.

**Ask how long after surgery they recommend you have the MRI. Normal post-operative changes can enhance and either mimic or obscure small abnormalities.

Very smart about the MRI, when is the surgery? I cannot imagine having the breast squished at this time.

At this point if you even look at my breast...Do you think this tinsy pus could have such an effect on the scar? The scar is about 2"? Is that a lot? He did not speak to me about it, it's to the left of the areola it did not touch it, that's the mystery for me, why is the nipple so sensitive?

What i've read is that for some ladies it could take months. But i sill would like to know WHAT makes the nipple get the brunt of this, and if the scar is painful is it infected or it's expected to hurt 10 days in...I'll give it some time for sure.

Thanks djmammo. The surgery was Sept 15. I still need to schedule it, could take a few weeks.

Momallthetime, I think its pretty normal 10 days in ro have the nipple pain. When I complained to surgeon he told me to wear the surgical bra night and day to relieve the pain. You also had that seroma with the Inflammation probably pressing some nerves.

momallthetime, tomorrow 10/31 will be the third week since my surgery. I had and still have but much less the same nipple sensitivity especially on my left breast! The first two weeks as to say was terrible!!! I was itch just because that sensitivity and had the pinching sensation-still have a bit- on the spot where the tissue was taken off and where the needle localization was put on-beginning to the end of the needle-. I bought three sports bra from Walmart, they are cotton made and very comfortable, third week I do still sleep in it. I still can't sleep comfortable on my left side since that incision was very deep but right side recover well. Today was my first day at work and wore sports bra I bought from JCP, I'm very happy with it and is firmly holding my breast-I'm on my feet all day and my job requires lots of walking- but the thing is not cotton and have weird sensation on my nipple and incision.

My other thing is my left breast looks like the skin is pilling off very lightly, far about inch from the nipple and around the whole breast, in a circle. Has any of you have the same issue and what could be? I'm not in a panic mode yet so that's why I don't call my doctor but if won't change in month or so I wil probably have to.

Goga, you don't have a follow up with the surgeon? I had a one week follow up and a 3 week followup.

Goga thanks, i a ended up putting a bunch of tissues between the nipple and the bra. It helps. The cut feels has if a wire is there, but there is none. It's def better, but believe me I'm protecting it. It's still a bit red around the scar, i wish docs nd nurses would be more honest about this and just say yes, this and that could happen. I think they are so scared of being sued that they don't say a/t could go a bit not right. If I would know, i would not be so surprised. Of course that are those ppl that don't wanna know.Oh well.

re: bras, the real goos ones, had foam in it it's too much for me, the not so good ones like Amoena that i bought does not give me too much support but i wear it t night, lduring the day i need a good old fashioned bra because my back hurts if not. So i put this whole adage to protect the breast. I was almost gonna buy nursing pads, but i think my tissues r thicker than the pads:)

And Mel my BS only will see me again in 6 mos, ask me for what? This lesion was ocult so he would not have found it, it was not palpable, but ok.

Mel, I did follow up last Wednesday, two weeks after the surgery but believe it or not I forgot to ask 😣 I do not have any other appointments with the doctor since everything looked great. But will follow up in six months.

Reading online today, skin peeling on a breast happens due to breast reduction. They did not remove much of course (about 6cm, 29gr), so it might be reaction from the tissue removal. As I said, I’m not in panic yet just was asking if any of you ladies had same experience.

Love, hugs and fast healing to all of us!

Hi guys, roll call - how is e/o feeling?

Goga that's gr8 that you are doing better.

My surgery will be 5 weeks this week, the nipple is very sensitive, yes better, but still very painful. The scar still shows red marks around it, and there is hardness around it, and the whole area near it. It's very painful, i feel my breast all of the time. Literally. I am not in agony at all, being very careful, e/o stay away, the scar was about close to 3 cm. So I am checking, you guys still feel pain like that? The skin on top of the scar is very sensitive.

I still get intermittent pangs of pain deep in the breast where they removed the lesion. The nipple sensitivity lessened over time.

I've procrastinated and haven't scheduled my re-excision. Mammogram and MRI were negative but they still recommend re-excision.

    Hi Mel1969, Hi everyone,

Do you still have sharp pain from the place where lesion was removed? I do. And my surgery was 10/10/17. BS doctor said I will feel that for couple of months, but it’s been more than that...

Hope you all are doing well. 🤗

I had my excisional biopsy a week ago, and took Thursday and Friday off. But if you’re lifting things you might need more time off. I would find out how much they plan to remove, as I think that had an affect on the length of my recovery. The pain has definitely been manageable since Sunday, but I still have some twinges if I overdo it.

    I hope everything goes well

I still do get intermittent sharp pain. But it seems like the pains were more frequent after the first excision. Mine was done Nov 15 Sept 15 and December 15 for re-excision. Wow.. the second one was nothing like the first! So much more difficult and painful.

Checking again. Going on 7 months and the nipples hurt sometimes bad, more like a sharp pain for a minute and goes away, the excision is still sensitive, of course not as bad, but the breast itself is painful, can't take even the seat belt, then i start feeling it. The nurse over the phone said it's normal, i cannot believe it. Going for a clinical check up with BS on the 15th of May. If i need imaging again, i cannot imagine having a mamo at this point. The type of "something' that they found was originally occult so i can't understand what just a clinical check up will help, but i know he likes follow ups, and I missed the 6 mos so i gotta take care of this.
Thank you for your input, interested to hear how everyone is doing.
