I was just diagnosed with triple negative IDC . I am beyond terrified. I have the shakes and I am so depressed. I feel like I was just handed a death sentence

    Karebear, sorry to see you have joined the club you never want an invite to. :) It's ok to cry! Be scared and more. I found that first few weeks was almost like a greaving periord simular to after a loved one dies. You will find strength you never knew you had. It will come when you most feel at a loss. You are not alone, there is an amazing amount of support for everything you can think of and then some!

    Do you have any questions so far? Do you have more info on your pathology besides triple negative IDC? When I first got my details I didn't have a clue what I was looking at. If you need help post them here those that are knowledgable will jump in and help.

    Do you have anyone you can call and be with you? It is one foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Once you have details and action plan it seems to be easier to swallow for most people.

    Karebear - As a fellow triple negative SURVIVOR, I wanted to reach out and let you know that you are not alone. You are definitely in the scariest part of your journey right now. Once you meet with your medical team (oncologist, breast surgeon, etc.) you will begin to feel a little more in control. I remember those early days and the fear you describe is so familiar. There is a very active and supportive thread on this site specific to triple negative called "Calling all TNs" and you will find a warm, supportive group of women in various stages of treatment and many long-time survivors. I am over 7 years out from a very large TN tumor and am doing great. FYI - While triple negative tumors are aggressive, they tend to respond very well to chemo because of that. My tumor completely disappeared while doing chemo.

    Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and take it one day at a time. We're here for you. Feel free to ask anything that you want along the way.
