Biopsy tomorrow, just need to type!
Hello-
First post...just need to type this out and share with someone as I am not sharing with people in real life, except my hubby and sister.
Screening mammo 10/23, got the dreaded letter a week later. Went in for dx mammo on right Breast on 11/3, they found microcalcifications, heterogeneous and reduplicate...so my report says. I can’t remember much of what the radiologist said besides “we are not telling you that you have cancer”. Report shows BIRADS 4.
Stereotactic biopsy tomorrow, I am of course scared and wigging out as my username suggests. My mom died of cancer (not bc) when she was 49 and I was 4. I have three daughters and all I can think of is that I’ll be doing the same thing to them....despite knowing that odds are still “good” for everything to be ok.
I should get results Friday or Monday...please let it be Friday....if everyone who reads could just think Friday thoughts for me I would appreciate it. I have anxiety and recurrent major depression so the waiting is simply intolerable for me. Anyway, Thank you for letting me share!

I am absolutely sending positive thoughts your way for Friday! I am sorry you are in this situation - it sure as hell is not fun and it is some crazy fear....most biopsies turn out to be B9....focus..if you can...on that... I know with seeing cancer in your family the places the brain goes and the scenarios one plays out can make the waiting worse...or feel that way....sending peace and strength and every hope for a B9 result wigging...

Thinking "Friday thoughts" for you and sending best wishes. As you know there is a lot more testing being done these days, so odds are it is benign. But as someone who was just diagnosed September 4 (over the phone wile I was on vacation for goodness sake) I can promise you that you can handle whatever comes. There is lots of support here for when you just don't feel like involving your family, which is a totally ok way to feel. Hang in there.

Thank you for the replies and thoughts! Biopsy is done, I really had no pain at all with it. The worst part of it was that I’m claustrophobic and was lying on my side with something pressed up into my back...I totally felt like I couldn’t breathe. I made it through with a few tears and closed eyes. I should have taken more than one Xanax! Now, to wait.
Thanks again. I’ll update again no matter what the results are...hopefully tomorrow

wigging, sending positive thoughts for B9 results!
-
thanks all! No results today...longgggggg weekend ahead of me, sigh!
-
Wanted to update to give ladies on here a positive story...b9 results, all normal cells! Thank you for all the support, ladies.
-
Congrats! So the calcifications were described as "normal"?
-
yes...”no abnormal cells at all” is what the radiologist said. I do plan to track down the pathology report myself, but it sounds like the best news I could have hoped for!
-
I agree Wigging! Just read the report and make sure that they got samples of the micro-calcifications and didn't miss them! Great news.
-
wanted to update:
Got my pathology report, b9 findings...fibrocystic change, apocrine metaplasia with focal adenosis. They did get the calcifications during the biopsy and the results were concordant with dx mammo findings. I truly feel as though I have gotten the best possible news. I googled all of this and none of it seems to carry an increased risk. Thank you again ladies so much for the support.

Yay! contrats, go celebrate and have a Very Happy Thanksgiving!
-
Good for you! Thats great news:))
