HI All,

I've just read the following which was flagged here on the research strand.

Distant Recurrence Risk of Hormone-Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer Steady 20 Years After Initial Diagnosis

I wonder if we could start a discussion about it?

Is it telling us anything we didn't know about the risks?

I'm struggling a little with the difference between regular risk and cumulative risk which is referred to in the paper. If I understand it and using my fridge as an analogy there might be a 1% the bulb fails this year due to statistics on fridges of this type. But if the bulb doesn't fail this year then the risk becomes 2% next year and 3% the year after etc. Is that right, or have I misunderstood cumulative risk?
