Skin mets/recurrence?

Options

hello. I had breast cancer in the left breast and axillary lymph node in 2013 and went through chemo, mastectomy, radiation. I'm now 5 years out almost and have some scattered hard little bumps underneath my skin around nipple above scar. Appeared within last 4 to 6 weeks, i think.

Feels almost like small lentils or beads under skin. No itching, or color to them. When viewed from cerain angle, each one is somewhat shiny compared to surrounding skin. I'm thinking this is not a good sign and mentally preparing myself for bad news. Surgeon did ultrasound and is having me back at the 2 week Mark to recheck them. Any thoughts?

I would request a biopsy if they are still present when rechecked.

    Hi Zen

I was almost 5 years out when I got my skin mets. Mine were more like a scaly rash that itched like crazy, with a few small pinkish bumps. (Not sure if everyone else is the same) I would definitely request a biopsy to be on the safe side.

Best wishes and hoping for b9 results for you

Grannyof3- thanks for the info. With all the research I'm doing it seems like there's so many ways these things can present!

KBeee- I see my surgeon's again on Wednesday. These nodules have remained unchanged for probably a month and are still palpable just under the skin. I will definitely post anything I find out.

Ugh. Sorry you ladies are going through this too. I just had three punch biopsies to check for skin mets :-( Mine are scattered small shiny pink bumps, and one larger nodule in the mastectomy scar. Mine came up really quickly after my recent mastectomy surgery. I'm kind of hoping it's just post-surgical changes, but I'm bracing myself for bad news. Should be getting the results soon - the waiting is killing me.
