Is it Hashimoto's or tamoxifen?!

I've been on tamoxifen for 4 years now. Diagnosed with hashis over a year ago. The last 6 months I've felt awful. Fatigue, no get-up-and-go, thinning hair, my gut has grown to where someone thought I was pregnant (I'm 56 - not sure if I should be flattered or depressed). On and off I get joint pain stiffness, and occasionally I get a flu like feeling - kind of achey but definitely not the flu, but definitely "off". My thyroid labs and every other lab is normal - except liver - alt and ast are/have been elevated.

It was actually depressing just to get my thyroid labs back - I thought for sure I needed a med increase. So if not that - what's wrong with me?! Now I'm wondering if it might not be the tamoxifen...

Curious to hear how you're all doing on it. It's been so long since I've started it, I can't remember how I felt pre tamoxifen anymore

    I too am dealing with flu like icky feeling that I assume is the Tamoxifen. I have a low grade headache a lot of the time and just feel blah. Today was the first day I have felt normal in about 3 weeks. I have been on Tamoxifen for 6 months.

    well, I just got a call from my oncologist. My primary care called him to talk about the tamoxifen. So the idea is that I go off of tamoxifen for one month, and see if there's any difference in my symptoms. It's not highly likely that it'll make any difference since I was "ok" on it for 3-1/2 years and only the last 6 months have felt like this. But it's a start.
