TNBC and BRCA1+

Hello ladies, I am a 32 year old momma of six. I have Stage 1a Grade 3 TNBC. I have underwent a bilateral mastectomy and nodes were negative. There was no lymphovascular invasion and other than the mass there was no other signs of cancer in my breast tissue. I will be starting chemo this Friday. I will be doing 4DD A/C which my doctor wants to follow with 4DD Taxol. I have done a ton of research and have found that Taxol can pose more harm than good in BRCA1 TNBC. The research has showed that BRCA1 TNBC is fairly resistant to Taxanes. Because of this I am considering forgoing the Taxol. Has anyone here done just the A/C? I asked about carboplatin but my oncologist said they usually only use that with stage 3. Many women with stage 2 and 3 have done the same treatment I am going to be doing. His words were that all 8 are likely over kill and I can do as little or as much of the chemo as I want. Any and all opinions would be so very helpful.

I didn't test positive for either BRCA so I haven't researched that at allbut I was wondering if you tried posting in the positive genetics test area? You might get more responses. Good luck.

    hello,

Im brca 1 tnbc and also read taxols are not as effective for us with gene mutation, so i added Carbo to my regime and still kept taxol, so i do taxol/ carbo weekly. As there are brca1+ ladies in my FB group who had Pcr with just AC and taxol, i didnt want to remove any drug so i just added it. My onco also said not necessary as im not "high risk" but i say burn it with all fire you have, i use to focus on stages but you see stage 3 survive years and stage 1 have recurrances, do what you can to be rid of it forever, add the carbo

I actually asked about carbo and my oncologist said no lol. We are now considering TAC*6 every 3 weeks. I go in Tuesday for chemo and will have my labs then sit and discuss everything with my doctor before starting the chemo.
