Ebru was a gift to us all, wise and funny, compassionate and kind, and a ball of righteous anger when circumstance warranted. I loved her without even meeting her, so I can only begin to imagine your sorrow. May memories of her light comfort you. I will keep her in my heart.

I loved that she squeezed much joy out of life and was never bitter.Yes, she would get angry over this crappy stage IV business, but that anger did not dominate her life nor prevent her from living and loving
-
She was a rock to those of newly diagnosed She will be missed by all here

Ebru was so beloved by people across the globe who were fortunate enough to know her. A vibrant, kind, compassionate and exuberant person who reached out to comfort those in need and uplifted them with her sense of humor and glorious photos. And she did so consistently - irrespective of her own significant health challenges.
Dear Ebru's Husband, as you see from these beautiful tributes, your lovely wife has found a place in many hearts.
We join you and your son in missing her, loving her, and remembering her with smiles through our tears.

I read about Ebru's death on Facebook hours ago, and am still stunned. She was a light. A beacon. Beautiful in all the ways that mattered. My husband and I cried together. The day that we spent together in Istanbul was magical. There was food, peacocks, sunshine, and amazing conversation. And let me tell you, she could drive the Indy 500 and the other drivers would quiver in fear.
I always assumed that I would pre-decease her. It is totally unfair that this is not the case. I will miss getting text messages from her... always at random times filled with sunshine.
Rest well, my dear Ebru.

Wow, she will be missed. She was always so honest and realistic yet positive. She had a way of putting thoughts and experiences into words that are left trapped, muddled up in most people's brains. I am shocked as I wasn't expecting this. She is such a strong, beautiful soul and will be missed. Prayers and thoughts with your family.

I am newer here but do want to say how sorry I am to hear this. Ebru was so warm and accepting - a wealth of knowledge, truly passionate and kind and she eagerly shared encouragement - even to those with a new diagnosis. I am glad to have interacted with her here and know that she is deeply missed. Sending light to you and your son. - Jil

I saw this news on facebook earlier, and am just heartbroken. Ebru had such a vibrant spirit and was an inspiration to all of us. She was warm, wise, witty, encouraging, and caring. I loved the "tours" she would take us on, when she let us into her world through her wonderful photos. We loved her so much and will miss her dearly.
Sending my heartfelt sympathy to her family. I am so sorry for your loss.
