Hoping for results tomorrow
a week ago Friday I had a mammogram, called back Monday to have an ultrasound because mammogram showed a spiculated mass. Ultrasound Wednesday (confirmed mass is solid with shadowing, 3 cm, biopsy Thursday.
Tried and failed to not google. Scared out of my mind. My last mammogram was 2012. Kicking myself for that.
On a lighter note, autocorrect tried to change spiculated to spicy latex.

I dont know how great spicy latex would be either haha! Sounds painful.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I was awful about getting mammograms, as well.
However, let me say..I have 2 tumors in my right breast, and 1 didn't show up in a mammogram/ultrasound. So..

Don't beat yourself up about not getting mammograms. Yes you should and I did yearly. I still ended up with a 2.8 cm tumor 😡. Keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it is it's benign

Oh scaredmommy I am so very sorry! Glad you have an appointment tomorrow to start getting more information. Please do consider taking someone with you who can be a good note taker and help you get all your questions answered as it is a bit overwhelming (especially in the beginning). It is common not to know the stage in the beginning as imaging is not always an exact reflection of the measurement of a finding (it can either overestimate or underestimate the actual size). This is a difficult time, when you know bc, but not much else. It's time to activate your support system (the closest ones who you know you'll want to tell and who'll keep your private info private). There is so much info and support on these boards. You can do this, please let us know how we can help. Warm wishes and gentle ((hugs))

Try to get a copy of your actual biopsy pathology results, with info on hormonal status, and Her2.
I recommend the Mayo Clinic book that is thorough but not overwhelming, over googling. It is pointless and stressful to research too much when you don't yet know what you are dealing with.
If hormone positive and Her2 negative you may have an Oncotype done after surgery, which will give you some good information on treatment and risk.
Get some Ativan if you need it and watch a lot of Netflix if the kids aren't occupying you!

hugs! It was not long ago I was in the same place. Tears are ok, laughter is ok and so is everything in between. Its one day at a time now.

thank you all so much xox
