Anyone else experiencing feet and hand pain? It’s lik my bones are on fire. I’m 17 months post chemo. Tried femmera for about 3 months and the all over body pain was too much...been off that for about 7 months.

My hands fall asleep at night.

Every time I get up from sitting it hurts like hell to walk. Some days are worse then others.

Taking nuerotin but it’s not totally helping.

Anyone have any suggestions

Hi Consetta. I am so sorry you have been suffering that way. I hope you will find relief soon.

I suggest having your serum B12, Methylmalonic Acid, and Homocysteine checked. Not just your B12, but all three of those substances.

Do you take any Vitamin supplements? Overloading on some of the Vitamins can cause serious problems, just as Deficiencies can.

Your Chemotherapy may be another possible explanation.

This can be a side effect from Taxol or other chemo treatments. Look up neuropathy; as well as chemo induced arthritis. I ended up with neuropathy from Taxol treatments. Also I had arthritis and fibromyalgia going into this. Both became worse I am taking 300mg, 2 times a day of gabapentin; which helps. Neuropathy can also have other causes, so make sure you talk with your doctors.

    Dear all,

I have a question regarding to my mom's hand. I would be really thankful if you would help me and reply.

5 years ago we realized that my mom had breast cancer so that she underwent surgery to remove half of her left breast and also 18 axillary lymph nodes after that she took chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Last year her breast cancer metastasized to her lungs and this time she decided to become a row vegan as her treatment. During the recent year she really suffers from her left hand's pain (although during 5 years ago she sometimes felt just a little ache in her hand) and her doctor told us this ache is because of her lung cancer but this reason seems a little weird.

By the way there is no lymph edema in her hand.

My question is that what reasons may cause this horrible pain? and what can I do to help and decline her ache?

    Hi Mahssaa,

So sorry to hear what your mom is experiencing. There can be many reasons for bone and joint pain, if that is what it is. You may want to take a look at this page: http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/side_effects...

However, since it is only on her left hand, you may want to visit a doctor to see if there is a different issue, or possible inflammation. Is she left-handed? Could it be her doing a repetitive movement?

Maybe her internist could provide some thoughts on next steps to finding the cause.

Thinking of you, and your mom,

    Many thanks for your reply.

Actually my mom is not left handed and she does nothing with her hand because she seats or sleeps most of the time (since her lungs make difficulties for her in breathing)

Physical medication and rehabilitation expert prescribed EMG test for her to see if cancer cells have metastasized to her hand's nervous system. Next saturday we will go to take EMG.

How many percent this may be occur?
