Frustrated with Insurance

Options

I was told my Oncotype Dx test results would be available last week, but my oncologist was on vacation last week, so I couldn't actually see her to get the results until tomorrow. I've been trying not to stress about it, but I'm really impatient to know. Today the nurse called and cancelled my appointment. My insurance company hasn't approved the test yet, so it hasn't even been done. The doctor has no idea if or when we'll get results. Now what am I supposed to do?!

call insurance to see what requirements need to be met. Could be just a paper work or coding error.

sorry you have to go through the awful waiting then to find out it was not done. I wonder if it was sent but the tissue is sitting at the lab. I'd look into that too. Your surgeon should have sent it, otherwise you should have been told that it's on hold until ins approval. I'd call insurance also just like the above poster suggested. They can even do the text andoffer you a discount if it comes to that and if you can afford it. On one of my explanation of benefits it had the test claim and unpaid. IT was a few thousand. I left it alone and two weeks later I recvd another one showing it was covered.

It's torture waiting and I feel for you.

Thanks! Amazingly, the nurse called me back this morning, very surprised, and said they got the results today after all. So all that stress for nothing.
