Hoping some of you ladies who are out much longer will say ,,,yes it does.

Ok, so I know I am only going on 3months out of surgery, but I'd like to peel back my skin and scratch soooo hard on the underside. Cant itch from outside because can't feel it. I find myself rubbing my foobs and jiggling them in hopes the itch might somehow get scratched that way. Grand scheme of things, I know it's little, but while I can ignore it 98% of the time..when it does, it takes over.

Does it get better?

I get the itchiness too but didn’t have implants. Like you say,the itch is deep. And at least in my case it can be ruthless. If you live in Canada you can buy Lanacane cream to help stop the itch (Lanacane is no longer sold in the US). if you live is the US, vagisil cream or wal-mart’s Brand vagicaine work great. Both have a high amount of topical numbing/itch blocking agents in them that helps block the itch. I think it’s 20% benzocaine in the lanacane /vagicaine/vagisil creams. The other anti-itch/topical numbing agent creams on the market today tend to have significantly lower doses of numbing/itch blocking ingredients and therefore don’t work as well.

    I hope this helps!

I think the itching is a nerve thing. I had it really bad for a while. It would drive me nuts when I went to bed.

I don't really have any advice. It does seem weird to have itching when so much sensation is gone, right? I will say that it's much, much better for me these days.

I discovered that being one antibiotic for so long caused my intense itching as soon as we changed the meds the itching stopped. I also stopped taking oxy just to make sure. When I told my MO she looked at my like I was crazy lol but my PS knew right away what the issue was.

beach2beach...the itchiness is most probably neuropathy from the surgery. You should talk to your doc about the different neuropathy drugs. They are not without side effects so I guess you have to weigh the odds. Good luck and keep us posted.

I had some deep itching, as well as "phantom nipple" itching, for a while after surgery. It did go away, gradually. I still very occasionally have a minor itching feeling, but it only lasts a few seconds. I'd say most of the itching was gone after 9 months or so, but I never actually timed it.
