Minute Focal ALH

My DD has BC, after finding sclerosing intraductal papilloma on stereotactic biopsy, excision surgery biopsy was done for the papilloma. The results came back b9. But also the pathology reads: Minute focal ALH, columnar cell change, fibrocystic changes, proliferative type, associated with calcifications.

I am trying to get information of how to follow up. BS said to check with him in 6 mos, but the lesion was not palpable, was ocult on US, they saw something on the 3D mammo and that's why biopsy was first recommended. But in any event, due to family history, would a follow up with Radiologist need to be more than the yearly visit or not. Are any of these terms concerning?

The tissue that was taken out was 8.6x5.1x2.0 cm, that's quite a specimen no?

It bothered me enough that I am asking for your opinions. Thank you.

I’m a little confused— you say your daughter has a dx of BC, yet none of the terms you’ve listed in the pathology report from the excisional biopsy indicate cancer.

FWIW, after my dx if ADH (more or less comparable to ALH, but found in the ducts, not lobes), I am followed 2x a year by my BS and have some type of imaging every 6 months. I also take Evista as a preventive measure. A dx of atypia does not warrant radiation. I would think that with your daughter’s family hx, plus the atypia, her surgeon would want regular follow ups and more frequent imaging.

momoschki let me clarify, my daughter was dx w BC, this info is just to explain some fam history, although she does not carry any of the known hereditary genes. This pathology information is mine from my recent excision surgery. So the question is about me, i was wondering what experiences did ladies diagnosed with ALH had regarding how often they were doing imaging etc... And if ALH is a concern? From what I've read ADH is of higher concern than ALH. So I'm not sure if BS did not want me to get anxious or if it's really something that could just be checked again in 1 year.
