For those of you just starting chemo, it does eventually come to an end! After surgery, chemo, radiation and a year of targeted therapy, I am done. The port came out (which didn't hurt at all) and I am NED. It feels wonderful. My sons celebrated with me by insisting we get tattoos. At age 65, I now have my first tattoo; a celebration of a fight, hopefully won, with my wonderful sons in solidarity. I wish all of you who are just starting down this road all the best. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep your spirits up and you will get through it.

that's awesome! Congrats. I had my last chemo yesterday, port out in three weeks then radiation. It's nice to turn one page in what feels like a never ending story. Love the tattoos.

Maggieroe, congratulations, and I definitely needed to see this today! My daughter wants us to get tattoos, but she's only 14.....

I haven't just started chemo, in fact my next infusion is my last, but feeling really down with cumulative SEs today.

    Congrats on being NED!

We should all be so lucky, however, for some of us treatment never ends. I don't mean to sound bitchy, I feel compelled to remind people sometimes that while most move on with life after all this, some others just move on :(

You don't sound bitchy at all. I am so sorry that your treatments continue. I know I am lucky to have caught it early, and also recognize that there are no guarantees in life. Who knows what is round the next corner. It could be another bout of cancer or a cement truck! For now, I am choosing to enjoy my life for as long as I can.
