I was feeling really down the last couple of days..crying a lot about the prospect of a mastectomy. I read this and it's made me feel much better..

    I was devastated by my mastectomy but reconstruction was far better than I thought it would be.

    That's awesome. Did you get immediate reconstruction? That's what my BS wants to do.

    Swg, I got immediate reconstruction, skin, nipple sparing BMX with pre-pectoral implants and it has been pretty nice. My breasts look pretty much like they did before, nipples maybe a little more towards the outside but look good. I was/am pretty small breasted though. I'm very happy with the way they turned out and no more surgeries planned.

    That's what I'd like..I def want to save the nipples. In fact, I'd like to save my left breast if it's clear, cuz I'm a little freaked out about the loss of feeling. I guess I'll find out the implications of the various choices when I meet with my new plastic surgeon (the other one my BS recommended is in the wrong health insurance TIER, and I'd have to shell out a $5000 deductible..ouch). The new one is in my Tier 1 and has GREAT reviews online, thankfully.
