Hi. I just got diagnosed. Don’t have a lot of details at this point, as I’, still waiting for the pathology report. All I know is that it’s low to intermediate grade and ductal and lobula. Yesterday I had an MRI and today I got called back for additional views. Has anyone been through this? Any insight on what it may mean? Thanks in advance.

Hi Roxy, sorry to hear this, though you are in a great place! Welcome. :)

Did you have a biopsy, or is this information only from MRI scans? Low to intermediat is good, it the "speed/agressiveness of the cells. They score from 1 to 3, 3 being the most aggresive. So I am guessing you had a biopsy since you have this information. THis is actually decided by a pathologist visually looking at your cells as they double and then count how many in the "screenshot" is doubleing.

I had a mammo that resulted in additional pictures while I was there, then an ultrasound. Had an MRI a few weeks later which found more spots. Only had one MRI though. Please update us once you have more numbers. As I have been saying, the first few days felt like a crash course on cancer and there is a LOT of new termnology. There is a lot of help here!

Roxy13...sorry you have to be here but welcome. Getting called back after a MRI is common. MRIs are the best screening tool, especially for dense breasts and lobular BC. However, there are a lot of false positives that can lead to additional biopsies. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Thank you for the replies.

Green Eyes - Yes, I did have a biopsy, but they scheduled the MRI before I receives the path report. The radiologist was able to tell it was cancer, I guess, but of course she couldn’t give me the diagnosis herself. Thanks for the info. I’m learning a new language these days.

And drad - you are right. My breasts are very dense apparently. This came as a surprise to me - I’m 47 and have two kids....

We’ll see what happens. Nothing is simple with this beast....

    Sending lots of love
