8 years remission and now I have concerns

I was stage3 triple negative at 35 yrs old. Had 6 months chemo, 37 radiation treatments, double mastectomy, latissimus flap both sides and several other surgeries including hysterectomy. I’ve been in remission 8 years and recently I’ve been having itching, burning, pain and rash in the original cancer breast. Should I be concerned? Any help from anyone would be appreciated. I know in the beginning there was itching because of the nerves but I haven’t experienced any in the past couple of years.

None of us are doctors but worse case scenario from what I understand would be IBC. It’s when the breast is dimpling, really red and there is usually a rash.

I had something similar but it look like bad bruising. I didn’t remember running into anything so I was scared out of my mind. It seemed to show up overnight. I read everything I could get my hands on to allay my fears but looking back I shouldn’t have because it only frightened me more. My husband said I should go back to the West Cancer Clinic where I had treatments, etc. this was on a Sunday so needless to say I didn’t sleep at all that night.

The next morning it looked like the bruising had faded so I decided to wait a few more days. Several days later it was almost gone. Big relief.

Hope it’s nothkng for you too. Keep us posted.

canden, are you still followed by an oncologist? It would be worth a visit to get it checked out. Hoping its nothing!
