What are the positive things you tell yourself?

Having a dark sense of humor/depression has made me well-versed in the art of positive self-talk. I'm also a school psychologist trained in counseling, so I have to teach kids to do this regularly, even as I'm learning...
Anyway, I find myself telling myself some things to stay positive. Sometimes I believe what I'm saying, sometimes I cheer myself up by laughing at the ridiculousness of what I've told myself.
What have you told yourself to get by

I tell myself every year that goes by with no sign of cancer my risk of it coming back goes down. If it does come back in the future there may be better treatments.

Graveyard humor, whistling in the dark, has kept me just this side of sane all my life. But really, every time I get a side effect and feel sorry for myself, I remind myself how relatively easy I’ve had it—and the life I’ve been lucky to lead thus far, especially the people I love who’ve made it possible.

When I think of the scars and imperfections I think about how much I loved and admired the aged in my life. My grandmother was such a force for me. It never mattered what she looked like to me. Her compassion and creativity were my role model. I hope my granddaughters (5, age 7 and under) get that same comfort, strength, compassion and love for all things quirky from me.
The other source of positivity are my old dogs. Currently we have five. We rescue older beagles, and beagle mixes. We "inherited" my FIL's 15 year old schnauzer when DFIL went to a nursing home. We have walked with many to the rainbow bridge. Old dogs don't care about what they can't do. If they can't see well, they adjust. If they don't have the energy they once had, they adjust. They are not troubled if their faces are white or if they are carrying a bit of extra weight. We love them and they love us the same.

This is another source of positivity I stole from ChiSandy. I keep it on my iPad and use it for inspiration.

These are great, everyone!
I was definitely inspired to feel positive yesterday when I saw a toddler (2 or 3) who had lost her hair from chemo, had a feeding tube taped to her face, and was joyfully toddling along next to her mom. She looked like she felt good and was enjoying life despite the incredibly unfair hand she was dealt. She and I canget through this.
Some stupid ones:
"I'll get a chance to wear the scarves my MIL gave me."
"I needed new bras anyway."
"When I shave my head, first I'll get a chance to finally see what I look like with a mohawk!"

I can really, really overthink things and get into a dark place, so I'll be checking this thread regularly.
Six months into dx, workup, and treatment, I have identified that my imagination has been worse than reality in every treatment so far. That helps smooth out the roller coaster a bit.

I love your post esp about dogs Farmer Lucy. I am a monster dog lover of all ages. I have buried a number of them in my lifetime too and with each one they take a chunk of my heart. We have a 9 year old pit/lab mix who is really DS’sdog but he lives with my DH and me. It’s better for him and we love him so much.
I am a Pollyanna of sorts about having BC. I agree as the years go by - 6 for me - I feel more positive but I still panic when it’s mammo time. I will probably never be totally calm about BC or anything else for that matter but then I’m the poster person for worrying.
I do get inspiration from the ladies in my support group though because several of them are dealing with recurrences and yet they still maintain a positive attitude. They are remarkable.

I tell myself, today is a new day to be better than I was yesterday. To draw even closer to God, show more love to family, friends, neighbors and strangers, enjoy my hobbies, find a new hobby, try not to worry about things I can't control and if a reoccurrence should occur, my beautiful life will go on beautifully!

I’m going to count my blessings, I slept well and got up without pains. I have a good hubby who takes care of us while I sick. I have few good friends support me and listen to me, best of all God gave me second chance of life so I can be here. All these are given to me from my Lord. Thanks God that put me under your wings, and I should not be afraid. What’s coming I know it is God Will,
