Lisa,
I took all my photos with my Kindle Fire... They really are good.. there was a couple that could have come out a little better with my regular camera, but that's how we find the best way to get our photos... trial and error...
This was taken last year in our raised garden. It was with my regular camera
-
you are right Ann.
Lately I've been using my wifi camera to transfer to my phone like this one
-
watch out Mum

Mt Baker from Dungeness Spit. Perfect weather on Saturday,
-
Lisa, that's Beautiful! I took this with my tablet.. It just finished raining...
-
Wren, what a beautiful photo..
-
-
Ann, I think the tablet has a little problem with up close focus.
-
Loving all the pics. Lisa, that is my favorite butterfly that is among those here in IL. That is a unique shot. It really allows the colors to really pop. I have a stomach bug so staying inside and riding it out.
-
Of all the butterfly pics I have taken this Mother of Pearl butterfly was the most unique and beautiful one I have ever seen up close. This pic doesn't do it justice but it was iridescent just as the Mother of Pearl jewelry. It was purple and pink and thrilling to see.
-
Bandwoman, I love your butterflies... Lisa, you mean the center of the rose? It may have been how I held the tablet.. sometimes my camera gets a little blurry... I try to take several at different angles.. but other then the center, it came out pretty good
-
Thanks Jan. I love the rose with the drops of rain. I need to get outside and take some pics of my roses before the frost hits them.

Catching up again Great photos ladies! Here's a couple of our resident hawk. He's shy and won't let me get too close.

This is called an orange dead leaf butterfly. When it closes it's wings it is does not look nearly as pretty on the outside as the inside. I think the other side is where it got it's name. This butterfly enjoys eating watermelon.
To all the pics. I guess that is the closest to a like button.

Wow! I googled dead leaf butterfly and it does look exactly like a dead leaf from the underside. Amazing that it could be different on top and underside. Great photo.
-
Thanks Paulette. I posted last night to you and it apparently got lost in cyberspace. On my email it came through as thumbs up but somehow didn't come out that way on you post.
Thanks Wren. I just now looked up a video of this butterfly and this man has one on his hand. It was unbelievable. What a treat for him. It opened and closed it's wings and the contrast is remarkable. I am sure this is part of their camouflage and protection.
When I am on my laptop which houses all my pics I will post another remarkable butterfly with such contrasts.

Band I take some pictures but nothing as good as yours!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Thumbs up!

Thanks Paulette. My photography was the silver lining to my bc. I have taken classes and workshops since and love it in my retirement. A neck surgery ended my music performance career so photography has been a great thing to fill that void. I was a band director for many years......hence my username.
Wren, as I was looking through my pics I didn't realize that I had a pic of the outside of the Orange Dead Leaf butterfly. In fact this one is probably the same one as the one pictured above. This is not a great pic with the green leaf in the way but you can see how much it does look like a dead leaf.

This is the Blue Morpho butterfly which really has radically different colors on the inside and outside of it's wings. These pics below are both Blue Morphos. I am not sure why the pic at the bottom shows part of the outside while seeing the inside but it was interesting to see both.
Scottie, I know you may have much better pics of the Blue Morpho showing it's inside wings.

So now I'm going to have to look up butterfly anatomy to see how they manage this.
-
Nancy, I just love the photos!!
-
Nancy you macro photos are so sharp and beautiful! 👍🏼👍🏼
