Hello Everybody,

My name is Sara, I am 33 and I have been on Tamoxifen for about a month now. I take my Tamox before going to bed, and I am looking for other ideas about what to eat with it. I have been trying to eat health meals with lots of fruits and Veggies, but I am finding I need more options as not to get board with eating the same things for the next 5 years!

Thank you for any midnight snack ideas you can provide all of your input will help me for many more years to come.

Hugs and Love to all,

Sara

My BC story DX with a 17cm Borderline Phyllodes Tumor(right breast) in May of this year. Had my mastectomy on June 27 2017. Starting Tamoxifen in September. Between mastectomy nerve pain and Tamoxifen SE my body often feels like a three ring circus when one pain is not preforming another is there to take its place, so my body can't ever say that it had a boring day.LOL

Apples by themselves, chopped banana with peanut butter, lactose free yogurt with chopped banana, coconut fruit bars, pea pods, kind breakfast bars, homemade blackbean chilli, homemade chicken taco soup, eggs with veggies. Mostly a natural fruit or veggie with something that improves the taste. I drink coconut milk, cashew milk, and eat a gluten free dairy free diet.

You don't have to take it with food if you don't want to. The biggest thing with tamoxifen is that you take it with plenty of water!!

I also take mine before breakfast, probably about 30 minutes before, only because that's how I've scheduled out my morning. I eat all sorts of different things for breakfast, and often leftovers from dinner the night before!

I take mine in the am and chug water. I've been trying to eat clean. Reduced carbs and sugars as much as possible. That took most of my fun snacks away. I don't do much grains unless its quinoa, or brown rice,(Costco carries a brand, Seeds of Change, that is Quinoa with garlic and brown rice, you microwave the package for 2min..pretty good). but I found a snack, its a rice bar. Looks like a roll. Has only 37calories and low carbs. It's found in Korean supermarkets. I don't know if you have one around. Maybe an Asian section of a grocery store might have them. Its like eatiing puffed rice. They make it in brown rice and reg. It is sweetened ever so lightly with pure cane. It fills the void lol. Add hummus to your list if you like, greek yogurt if you are not looking to eliminate all dairy.
