Not sure what to think or how to feel about this article and statement "Metastasized but cancer free"

    I would guess she means NED or NEAD but we know we're never really cancer free. Best of luck to her though.

    I agree the article makes absolutely no sense. I'd guess one of two things has happened: (1) she had a local recurrence which they 'cured'. They're wrong to describe it as metastases. (2) she has MBC and is on medication but currently has no evidence of disease.

    Everyone's story is their own. I wish her luck regardless of the situation. Except in this case the reporter is clueless.

    she may not have had distant metastatizes. It could have been stage 3 if it only mestatized to different nodes on the same side of her breast. The term metastasis is used even when it spreads to nodes, which makes it even more confusing

    grriff....I must be tuned in to only the political news of the day. I completely missed the news about Mindy Cohn. I hope she is NEd, and wish her well. It is always frustrating the way celebrity breast cancer news in dealt with by the media. It is hard to know what the true facts are about her situation. At least she didn't join the pink hoopla brigade when she was first diagnosed, the way so many other big names do. As I said, I wish her the best.
