Area of sclerosis on rib

Options

I’ve searched high and low to find someone who might have had a similar situation. I’m hoping there is someone out there that can ease my fears.

I went for my radiation mapping on September 29. The next week my CT scan results were uploaded to the online system and they said:

There is a stable subcentimeter site of sclerosis in the right fifth rib. This
is potentially posttraumatic; however, correlation with any previous imaging
including bone scan earlier than 9/8/2017 is recommended as a solitary
metastatic lesion is not entirely excluded.

I’ve never had a broken rib or trauma to my rib cage of any sort. I also didn’t get a call from my RO because somehow the MO’s name was the one who ordered the scan. It was really the RO because this was part of the simulation. I called the RO’s office for clarification. She said that sometimes this happens and most of the time it turns out to be nothing. However, I needed a bone scan to rule anything out.

I had the bone scan on Thursday. I called the RO’s office on Friday to let them know I had the scan and ask if the RO could read the scan before the weekend. I got a call back from the nurse stating that the RO was out of the country until late next week. I asked if anyone else could read the scan and she told me no, I just had to wait. I didn’t like that answer so I called my MO’s nurse. The BS, RO and MO all work as a team.

The nurse called me back and said that my scan was on her radar because the RO would be out of the country. She tried to explain to me that the scan was inconclusive. It is what a radiologist calls “a dirty scan.” It showed more spots on my ribs that they thought looked like trauma (again, never had trauma). Now they want me to have a PET scan.

I am no closer to finding an answer and both the RO and the nurse think this is nothing. However, I’m very scared because at the start of all of this my Gyn said my lump was likely just a fluid filled cyst. I’m not convinced this is nothing. While I had a 5cm tumor and only had a micromet on 1 node, I’ve had random bone pain for years. I do have osteopenia so that might be it, but I’m still not convinced.

Has anyone had this situation and what was the result
