Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but couldn't find anything that addressed my concerns.

I currently used ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream, Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer, and Wrinkle Resurfacing System kit (anti-wrinkle treatment and resurfacing serum). I cleanse my face with Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub in the morning and L'Oreal Age Perfect Gentle Daily Cream Cleanser at bedtime. I love this combination of products because at the age of 53 most people still guess my age as 7-10 years younger.

I'll be starting chemo next week, starting with 4 cycles of AC at 21 day intervals, and later Paclitaxel & Herceptin. I'm wondering if the Retinol products might be too harsh for my skin once I start chemo and if I should perhaps use the scrub less frequently. I suppose I could just wait to see how my skin reacts and then make adjustments, but if anyone has any prior experience with retinol creams while on chemo, I'd be grateful to hear it. I'd like to avoid any skin issues if I possibly can.

I had DD AC every 2 weeks, I have always had extremely oily skin and no sign of wrinkles. Within a week of starting the AC my skin became very very dry and I developed fine lines around my mouth and nose. I have never used moisturizer before but I could not use it enough during chemo. I was actually able to use more of my products with acidsin them because I wasn't as sensitive strangely enough. I finished chemo mid June and my skin has somewhat returned to what it was before but not quite. I'm sure everyone is different but as you said you might have to modify your regimen a bit. Good luck:)

My skin is a lot more sensitive since starting chemo, esp. about two rounds in. I have not used retinol products, but if you are worried they may be too harsh, they probably are.

All I do is Kiehl's ultra facial wash, the night cream they gave me at look better, feel better - Estee Lauder Nutritious Night, dermalogica matte moisturizer clear start if acne starts, and Dr. Jart's BB with 45 spf, which has only natural sunscreen, no avobenzone and the like. I couldn't use chemical sunscreens on my face before chemo, though.

Thank you ladies for your replies. We all know everyone's different & there's no one size fits all solution. I've also dealt with oily/combination skin most of my life. Finally got the battle against blemishes under control near or about the age of 50. The stress of the past few months has caused a few new breakouts, but the past couple weeks seem to be under control again. I'm attending a Look Good, Feel Better workshop tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll be able to get some additional good advice there and then decide what to do.
