Palpable Lump cannot be seen on ultrasound?

A couple of weeks ago, I thought that I had felt a lump near the breast bone of my mastectomy site. The other day I definitely felt a lump. So I went to my primary and had a stat diagnostic ultrasound done. The lump did not show up on ultrasound?!?! I figured this was probably good news, but alas the radiologist said that I need to see my surgeon again and since he did the surgery he would know what it was? Anywho, I know this is going to lead to more testing and a possible biopsy. I am very concerned. Would cancer not show up on ultrasound? Anyone else have this happen to them?

have you had a mammogram lately? may be worth it to have that too.

an MRI might alsoshow something more conclusively.
