This is where my high school friend and I stayed the night...air bnb in Atherton. Just gorgeous! It's a little cottage next to the bigger house.

Hey Lita, I think I prefer the little cottage, it is so cute. Plus on a practical side, a hell of a lot less cleaning

    Enjoy the reunion.

Love the hair do! So good to hear you have a palliative care doc. Comfort is the goal. Glad you have a good plan in place.

Lita- looking good and pretty trees out the windows behind you. I used to get amazing things done every Tuesday night for months- next day kinda crashed early. eventually I took a sleeping pill the night of the taxol and was able to sleep.

Lita for me the steroids didn't kick in till the next day lol I was superwoman on Tuesdays how cleaned , biked , laundry great for all of that. Kind of missing it now😳. You look beautiful as I sat in the cubicle today waiting for the oncologist to come in and give me the low down on my latest CT scans ( for over forty minutes) . Which is usually my head is going to be xplode moments I thought of you , how beautiful you are, your smile and all of your boundless energy. Then I said to myself if she can do it so can I😊. Always in my thoughts

Lita. I had the steroids dosage lowered after my first treatment so I could sleep better. If it revs you up too much speak to your MO about doing that.

Keep hanging tough- you inspire all of us!

I hope Taxol treats you well and really gives it to Mr. C. You're looking great, Lita - that smile of yours is bright!

I get the steroid his on Tuesdays as well. Went to my little gym yesterday to work on leg strength on a recumbent bike, came home and made dinner and some cookies, balanced the budget, made a necklace even with severe hand numbness. Today steroid crash, so tired and weepy. Weird stuff.....

    Go Taxol!

Be sure to keep icing, Artist.

I've heard we should ice again for 15 mins after we get home from infusions, too.

Lita. When I was on Taxol I iced 15 minutes before and after. Went to the neurologist today and he thinks the numbness is from a nerve not treatments. Having an MRI Friday at 6. It never ends!

    STEROIDS....wonderful things, terrible things.

Onco nurse called this afternoon to see how I'm doing...FINE, I'm all hpped up on steroids. She said to expect a crash of sorts tomorrow.

In the meantime, I made pineapple zucchini bread with a cinnamon pineapple juice glaze. The glaze really makes it.

    image

I baked it in a loaf pan...it's just in this glass pan for glazing.

that steroid high was kind of useful at times. Hope tomorrow isn't too big of a crash but rather turns into a cozy day where you can enjoy a piece f that yummy cake with a nice cup of tea and watch a movie

Good luck on taxol! Now I'm feeling lazy because I didn't maximize on my steroid highs! I'm just super chatty on those days. My friends laugh at me! I should've been baking and cleaning and making cool things! =) I did maximize my energy on my weeks off between treatment and went to Disneyland and CA Adventure, and then to the Safari Park to see the baby tigers! Super cute. I think my next career should be baby tiger caregiver. I'm super jealous of the workers who's job it is to feed the baby tigers and rub their bellies.

You guys are making wish I was on taxol. If I could have one day like that ... how cool that would be.

No, Z, you don't want to be on Taxol. They give you the steroids to TRICK your body into accepting the poison.

All in all tho, I'm glad I'm back on chemo. I was OFF pill-form chemo for over 6 wks and I could feel the little bastard tumors acting up in my hips and spine. I don't want them running amok anymore.

Actually slept about 4 hrs last night. We'll see how we do today. It's only day 2 after Infusion #1. They say the 3rd and 4th days are the roughest (you can get the body aches...the back side of my right thigh is hurting a bit today).

Palliative care doc is supposed to call within the hour to check up on me. We'll see what he has to say.

    Have a great day, everyone,

    L

Lita, pineapple zucchini bread with a cinnamon pineapple juice glaze? I am salivating just thinking about it! The combination of those ingredients sounds delicious! I am glad that your medical professionals are following up to find out how you are doing. I am lifting you up in prayer.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Diarrhea kicked in today, but I have my meds standing on deck. Palliative care dr said to take them only if I have more than 3 or 4 episodes. He ordered Lomotil, so I've got the big guns if I need 'em.

The Voltarin gel he prescribed works pretty well.

Weird pain deep within the back of my right thigh. It's not excruciating, but it concerns me a bit. Hope it's not a clot forming. Just learned that cancer makes us much more prone to forming clots. Yeah....that's all I need now. I'll monitor this, and if it gets worse, I'll have to call the advice nurse and see what to do.

Trying to get out and walk as much as I can. Nice warm autumn day today.
