Lumpectomy Friday - did I push too hard today

I had a lumpectomy Friday for dcis. Wasn't bad. I spent most of the weekend resting. Today dh went back to work and I did the usual getting kids to school, lunches, pickup, homework help, dishes, dinner prep, etc. I was just getting dinner in the oven and felt overwhelmed and had to come lie down for a few minutes. I thought I was okay, but maybe I'm not? Should I have rested another day? I cooked a double portion so we could eat leftovers tomorrow - gonna count my blessings there at least!

definitely rest if you feel tired, and do not feel guilty. You had surgery!!! It took a couple weeks for me to really feel better.

I don't know if you (or I) were pushing too hard but I'm finding that progress isn't linear. I had lumpectomy with oncoplastic reduction of the other breast 13 days ago. Had pretty much resumed my normal activities other than was working full days at home instead of at the office. Maybe the busy weekend was too much but today I was wiped out: only able to work four hours, even at home and two or three naps during the day. It's tough to listen to our bodies, isn't it?

I think you're obstructing the healing process by doing so much. Do you have drains?

I am going in for a lumpectomy for my DCIS and I was wondering if anyone has had the option of the Tamoxifen gel? I would rather have that instead of taking the risk of the pill. I know there has been a study proving that it works just as good without all of the side effects of taking the drug internally. Is it out on the market yet?

I searched the internet for Tamoxifen gel but I haven't found a name with a brand. Can someone help me ?

Belated thanks for the support. It's a week later and I'm feeling much better. In hindsight, I was just coming down with some sort of bug when I wrote my post. My husband had the same symptoms a few days later, poor guy! We're all much better now. My incision is healing, though I'm finding I still need the support of the sports bra, as unattractive as they are :).
