Burns anyone?
Has anyone else had a problem with burning themselves and NOT feeling the pain but discovering a wound later? This is the third time I have seriously burned myself and I'm a little frightened. I did it like 3 weeks ago. I have no idea how. I just went to take a shower and there was a giant blister...a little larger than a quarter. I put a bandage on it and went on. It seemed to be healing then a few days ago, the scab got pulled off by my bra. Now it is raw and leaking fluid and it hurts! It doesn't seem to be making a new scab. The odd thing is it doesn't hurt where the burn is exactly, but all the way up my chest through my shoulder. I'm scared because it hurts so bad and I can't feel my chest. Who knows how it would feel if I could feel? I don't know what I should do. My husband says just to put a bandaid on it and forgot it but it's scary because I wouldn't feel it exactly if it got worse. It's so hard to explain pain and numbness together, but maybe you'll understand. Would you go to the doctor just to be sure or just ride it out?

Justamy, i would definitely call your doctor. You don't remember burning yourself? I totally understand the numbness issue, I can't feel my breasts either but if it's not healing that is another issue.

I agree, get it checked out. I burnt my MX side arm a few months ago. I was canning pears and managed to pour boiling sugar syrup over it.
Do you have any idea how you burnt yourself? Since it is in area under your clothes? I wonder if it was a spider bite or something like that and you reacted badly to it. Are you using any new products when washing your clothes?

Hmmm...I never thought about anything except a burn...it was a big blister and I've burned them before so I just assumed. My oncologist saw it and it was healing at the time so she said it looked good...not do good now though.

Amy, lots of things will cause your skin to blister. It seems odd to me that you could burn yourself in an area covered by clothes? If you splashed hot oil on yourself that would do it, but it would be something you would remember.
Dermatitis, shingles, bites are among a few things to blister.

Bug bite, dermatitis from laundry soap, a little something like a twig falling into your clothes and irritating the skin?

I went to the doctor yesterday and she says it looks like a burn. She is concerned that it is not healthy properly. She took a swab and put me on antibiotics. I go back Thursday.
I don't know how I did it. I have splashed hot liquid down my shirt before and caused smaller burns. I'm just not sure...
