petct lit up on l3-l4 vertebra but mri shows disc bulge?

hi,i have been diagnosed with IDC LEFT breast 2.8cm mass. A pet ct was done to check for mets and it lit up ONLY on the RIGHT side of L3 L4 vertebra along with the left breast tumor area. they did a spinal mri to confirm and results have come out as disc bulge. So,my doc has decided to go ahead with left breast mastectomy. what should i do?how can i know for sure its not bone met?plzz help(new here....did nt knw whr to post this)

    Siali, sorry you're here, but this is a supportive place to be. I know it's hard not to imagine the worst. Your doc confirmed it was a disc bulge. Don't doubt that. Last week I had a bone scan to check a spot that lit up on an MRI. It came back as a benign tumor known as hemangioma. I breathed a sigh of relief. Once I read someone's advice here that said, Don't worry about mets until you have them. The doctor said disc bulge. You can be treated for that and for the IDC. It may not be easy but you'll make it through.

    I agree with Falconer. Different tests show different things. You could always ask for the tests to be repeated in a few months, but in the meantime, treat what's confirmed

    thanku fr replying.i went ahead wid d surgery and hv recovered nw.Hv chemos lined up as i hv 3/23 LN positive :(

    Hoping you tolerate chemo well. I did. Pop over to the chemo boards; they were a lifesaver for me during chemo.
