I just turned 65 and had a core biopsy yesterday on a spot that was a benign fibroadenoma years ago and I am in a panic waiting for results since it shouldn't have grown at my age. Anyone have a similar experience? Dr. tried to reassure me that he didn't feel or see anything he was overly alarmed at doing the biopsy but now I have to wait it out until the end of the week. Thanks for any help out there!

I was diagnosed at 62, almost 6 years out now. Most breast cancer patients are older. Good and bad news, because older women's tumors grow slower, but of course we are not as young and strong as we used to be. Also, keep in mind that 80% of biopsies are benign. Best wishes!

I was 63 when DXd - now 71 and still NED (No Evidence or Disease). I had had no issues at all with breast prior to a lymph node enlarging literally overnight and a week later was diagnosed with IBC.
