yes my temp is down, but dr wants to check me out anyway, who knows .. its been almost 3 weeks since ive had any radiation. Maybe it was normal aftermath as I had a patch on my chest that was irritated and very itchy that occurred a week after my postponement

Although I may run a urine sample over to my fam dr in am to rule out UTI

Ever since stopping estrogen cream in dec upon cancer discovery , ive had a several this past year, i dont have typical symptoms but one never knows

    thank you for asking lego

MamaOz- I hit total fatigue after 20 sessions (my last), on Wednesday. I'm trying to work, but have cut back my hours. My RO says the pain and fatigue will get worse for 2 weeks out, and then slowly get better. Congratulations to all the radiation alumni! My MO wants me to stabilize and start hormone blockers in December or January.

Hi MaMaOz- how are you doing? You must be finished with rads by now, me too. Had to postpone the last week for a week as I was getting to burned. Glad it done! Now just healing.

Kae- I'm still having pain and discomfort from the TEs. The right side has moved too far into my armpit and is is uncomfortable. Still have the sandpaper feeling around the edges and still have sensitivity all over. Started on gabapentin and that helps but overall, they're just uncomfortable. Can't imagine doing this for 9 months. How are you doing?

For anyone that has had your final implant swap completed, how to you feel about your shape? Is is different than your TE shape? Im not thrilled with my TE shape so wondering how different or the same it is!

Thank you MamaOz for the kind words and Mandycat and Shocked for sharing your similar stories. I've got 3 more regular rad sessions and then 5 boosts to go. I'm red, but no peeling skin yet. I think my active lifestyle might be helping with the fatigue as I'm not feeling it yet after 25 sessions. Fingers crossed that holds true to the end. I discovered a bump in my pubic area this week and I'm freaking out a bit that it is a sign of some new cancer. I see my oncologist Tuesday so I'll ask about it then. I already have surgery scheduled for November to have my ovaries removed so maybe they can just roll it into that surgery if it needs to be removed. Who knows?

Castigame: I saw you mentioned swimming in the Senior Olympics. My grandma, mom and uncle all swim in those too. My grandma is 98 so this last summer may have been her last.

Four more boosts to go! The RO dropped the bolus, that I've used the first 28 treatments, for my last 5 boosts. My skin under my arm is sloughing off. Looks pretty gross. They are doing a great job of taking care of me though and I am thankful for that. Looks like my worst areas are outside the boost area so that will help. He did offer taking the rest of the week off and finishing next week but we decided just to power through and get this done!

Elootz your grandma is an inspiration! I need to get my fannyoff the couch!!

Hi Gals, I'm finally back after experiencing Hurricane Irma. We had no power for a week and just got our internet restored yesterday. My treatments were cancelled for a week because of the widespread power outages, but I'm back on track again. This morning I had my 20/33 treatment. The past two days my clavicle area is noticeably red and painful. I've been using coconut oil and Jean's Cream. Yesterday I cut some fresh aloe, but even this didn"t take away the burning sensation. I'm concerned about still having 8 more treatments and 5 boosts remaining. Several months ago, I made reservations for October 18th to fly to Illinois to visit family. Since missing a week of treatments I won't finish until the day before my planned departure. I'm concerned about fatigue. For those of you who are nearing the end of 30+ treatments, would you advise that I postpone my trip? I've read that sometimes symptoms continue or worsen for up to two weeks after completion of treatments.

Thanks for any words of wisdom you can share.

I finished rads 6 days ago and had to stay home from work today because the blistering, peeling and pain makes wearing clothing and sleeping on my side very uncomfortable. Fatigue hasn't been an issue but my skin certainly has. RO says it looks normal, so I'm just relaxing today.

Hope everyone else is doing ok :)

    DonnaJoan,

Short answer is no. Unfortunately rad scar gets worse after completion. I had no peeling or blisters when I finished. Peeled and blistered after and it took two weeks to heal. The first week after rads quite painful. I would postpone the trip,

They gave me hydrocortisone cream for the itching Mimie. It works for a quite a few hours for me.

DonnaJoan, I have not really been tired at all. My skin however is turning black and red and sloughing off. I have three boosts to go. I'm glad that at least the area outside the boost area can start to heal now. I certainly could not wear a bra now though. I take Motrin round the clock and have spand gel pads that I wear in the worst areas under my arm. Aquafor, which I hated because it's so greasy, is my best friend now. If you are traveling to see family and would be comfortable with that and the sleeping and skin care needs then go. If not and if you can easily reschedule that might be good. Some of my rads friends are fine though. They are just pink - so not everyone has the really bad reactions. Maybe you will be lucky too.

Today is two weeks out from the last regular rads treatment and one week from the last boost. I am staying home again today to rest and not deal with work clothes or a seatbelt. I've sent my friend/coworker the following excuses for not coming in today, they are....

Boobie burn, fiery flapjacks, sizzling sandbags and melting melons.

Lego, I agree about the aquaphor, I love/hate it too.

Why 7 days of tamoxifen? Just curious - although you might have already talked about that and I missed it.

I want to thank everyone for all the suggestions! I'm 22 down 11 to go which incluces 5 boosts.

I have little fatigue so far. The green tea has worked wonders and my radiologist is just amazed at my skin. I have started to use aloe directly from the plant as well I wash it before use and it just pulls the red. I use the Miaderm a couple times a day. Where I ignored my back with the green tea initially is the most red so I know the green tea was the difference for me!

So thank you for all the ideas and suggestions

The hydrocortisone is relieving the itch fabulously. Today's symptom is pain in upper chest, by my breast bone. Feels like a 100 lb. weight. I had a similar pain but much less severe toward the end of treatment. Anyone else experience this?
