if it is only one week your incision should be still swelling some. Aren't you going back for check up soon?

Thanks PauletteK! I'll go for checkup in another 3 days but i was wondering that the swelling should start reducing a bit by now and also my drain discharge is still blood red. Anyways nurse is planning to take it out tomorrow as its less then 30 ml discharge.

. I definitely developed a lot of swelling, think they called it a seroma. It was not an infection but fluid build up. Had it manually drained three times. I didn't have a drain post op though. I asked my surgeon if at all possible to not put in a drain when he did my ALND. I had just gotten my drains out from mastectomy and did not want another one put in. He said no problem but said I'd have to come in to have the fluid drained which I was fine with.

Mimi- it did not hurt at all and I didn't feel a thing because the armpit still numb from the surgery. You can DO this! Just take it one thing at a time. i know it's just so overwhelming looking at the big picture but one step at a time.
