Abnormal MRI spine & worried

Options

I had MRI lumbar & thoracic spine due to ongoing pain. Results showed an atypical lesion at L-2, possible small metastatic lesion or hemangioma. Has anyone had this? Doc's recommended recheck MRI in 6 months to assess. Very worried my sisters please let me know what you think? I have appointment at Spine Center next month also. Treated at large cancer university center.

Gardenwalker, I am sorry you're having pain. I had a bone scan Thur because of ongoing upper back and neck pain. There is a lesion on my T2 (I keep forgetting exactlewhich thoracic vertebrae) anyway, I'd had an MRI like you showing a possible hemangioma so the radiologist recommended the scan. Any chance you could get one so you have answers?

Thanks for reply. I will ask oncologist about bone scan. Hopefully that can tell the difference Wishing you well. Hugs.

I had the same thing at T-2.

I had a bone scan to tell for sure, and it turn out it was a hemangioma. I would insist on a bone scan rather than waiting to re-test.

    Hugs to you!
