Does this sound like post-biopsy pain?

I was diagnosed Monday the 11th..my biopsy was a few days before that. Tonight, I'm feeling a recurring sharp pain my "cancer area". I wasn't feeling any more pain from the biopsy lately..would it make sense it would start hurting again, now??

I haven't gotten my test results back yet about what kind of cancer I have. I'm seeing a new surgeon tomorrow for a 2nd opinion. This is someone recommended by the director of the organization "Living Beyond Breast Cancer," who's been very helpful.

About a week after my biopsy, after the initial discomfort had gone away, I was up all night with sharp pain in the area of the biopsy. It was gone in about 36 +/- hours.

I can't say if this is common or not. Just that it happened to me.

Good luck with meeting with your surgeon! I'm just starting out on this road myself. This time of unknowing is difficult but there are lots of supportive people on these boards.

I had sharp pains, kinda shooting pains. And the area under the armpit on that side ached. I was surprised because the actual biopsy didn't hurt. But, boy, did it activate the nerves or something. And it lasted a couple of weeks at least.

    Thanks, both of you!

Yeah..sharp pains like I'm being stabbed, and pain under the arm. My biopsy was awful, tbh. It hurt like nothing I've ever experienced before. Even when I burned myself with a pot of boiling water, it wasn't this bad :p

They might have hit a nerve that's trying to recover. Sorry you are in pain. :-(
