Delayed reaction to doxorubicin n cytoxan

Options

Hi, I had my first chemotherapy treatment of doxorubicin n cytoxan on April 14, 2017. When the nurse finished giving me doxorubicin, and started the cytoxan, I had a severe burning sensations go through my entire body, they stopped the cytoxan. Gave me Benadryl and tyneol. Waited 20 minutes n started the cytoxan meds back up. As soon I left the treatment center, same burning sensations came back. Called the office and was told to take Benadryl and tyneol when I got home. Had this horrible burning sensations for 2 months. Approximately 12 days later, I ended up in the ER with burning sensations, internal tremors constantly, pains in the back of my head n absolutely no appetite. I stopped chemo cause the oncologist called me nuts and told I'm having anxiety. For approximately 5 months now, I have been this way. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Not with the A/C, but while on Taxol one night my entire body went numb and it was working its way up my face. I called the on-call nurse practitioner, and she thought it was anxiety or an allergic reaction. I took a Benadryl and away the side effects went. Can you get a second opinion if chemo is indicated as part of your treatment? You're not nuts. I don't care what stage a person is or their prognosis, this is a tremendous upset to your life and your body - I think there are a lot of hormonal changes that go on during this time that causes additional stress/anxiety. If you're anxious, so what? Tell your doctor that this isn't a TV show and get real! My oncologist prescribed Ativan for me - a combination anti-nausea and anti-anxiety med that got me through the whole thing. Please don't stop chemo if you need it because of a stupid oncologist who doesn't know how to talk to patients apparently.

After months of having these side effects, I'm being sent to a neurologist. My primary pcp and new oncologist feels that my body can't handle any regime of chemotherapy medicine. So I am going to see another neurologist.
