Hi! Me too. I am trying to figure out when to do it. I am almost 40 and they are wanting to do it this year. I would love to hear from others who have done it.

my sister and I both tested positive for BRIP1. Strong history on paternal grandfathers side and typically later in life diagnoses. I'm 43, my sister is 40. Genetic counselor said remove mine now since my BC was ER/PR+ and then MO confirmed that recommendation when I ended up with blood clots on tamoxifen and can't take it anymore. For my sister counselor recommended removal by age 50. She plans to do it at 45 and split the difference. I'm waiting on the surgery date now so I can't tell you about my personal experience with after effects, but it's basically instant menopause. When are they wanting to get you in to do it? Do you have a BC diagnosis too?
