Waiting... sigh

edited September 2017 in Waiting for Test Results

I had a standard mammogram on August 30. I received a call back on Aug 31 asking me to come back immediately. We were travelling out of town and I couldn't return until the 8th of September.

On Friday the 8th, I had five additional mammography films of the right side. They called in ultrasound. The ultrasound tech told me to wait. A radiologist came in the room. He looked at the ultrasound as she scanned me again. He ordered a ultrasound guided core needle biopsy. That was done on Monday the 11th at 9 am, as that was,the first available slot and he said it needed done immediately. I'm awaiting those results. :/

Here's the notes from the scans:

Aug 30 mammogram: fibroglandular tissue rt benign appearing calcifications 1.3 cm assymetrucal mass 12:00 3mm from nipple. This is indeterminate. ACR 0 - incomplete pending

Sept 8 report: mammogram and ultrasound rt side : 10mm hypoechoic @12:00 3mm from nipple note: breast tissue is NOT dense. Ultrasound guided core needle biopsy recommended. Acr 4b

No one I've encountered through this process has been reassuring, in fact I've found them all to be serious and in the case of the ultrasound tech apologetic.

History: in June I had and still have a dry patch on the areola about 2 o'clock that resembles dry skin eczema. It itches like wild. I saw a dermatologist that gave me cream, but it didn't resolve. I have just been trying to ignore it. I never felt a lump. I had no idea anything else was there.

Thoughts?

Anyone? I'm so flipping worried. I need to hear the good, the, bad or whatever from others in my shoes or that have walked this tiresome path of waiting.

B9 is always good and most biopsies come back B9. I'm sorry your struggling and waiting for test is always stressful. If it is cancer there will be lots more test and more waiting so not what you want to hear but remember not all breast cancer is a death sentence. Best thing is to try to distract yourself.. Did not work for me at all I just got educated and as prepared as one could be with limited answers. When you get your results back come back and let us know. When they call if it is positive ask about hormone receptors and the Her2 status. This really all I can offertory it's not more. Truly hooking its all B9. Dude note I k is they all try to rush it but BC is a personal emergency not a medical one obviously you can't delay too long but you have time to make choices. And please don't mistake this that I'm sayingor thinking you have Bc because I have no idea only pathology can give you those answers.

    Best wishes,
