Mastectomy after Radiation

I am dealing with a possible reoccurrence in the opposite breast just one year after my initial diagnosis. I had an MRI today and will get my results on Monday. I had radiation on my left breast last October/November and am wondering if you can have a mastectomy on a breast that has been radiated? If the cancer has returned, I'm preparing to lop off both the girls and eliminate as much as possible the chance for this to keep happening. Also would I be a candidate for DIEP with a previously radiated breast? I know I'm thinking ahead but just trying to mentally assess my options.
