I just had my one year follow up mammogram and all was fine. I started getting a tight feeling with a tingling, sometimes burning pain with a little puffiness to my chest on the lumpectomy side. I did a thorough check and found a tiny hard nodule about halfway between my breast and clavicle. It worries me! I felt a hard nodule on the side of that breast about six months ago and the ultrasound was negative. It hasn't gotten any bigger. I don't know whether I'm paranoid or have a legitimate worry? I'm afraid if I show the MO at my appointment, they will just think I'm paranoid and not take me seriously. Anyone here have any of these area come up and end up just being inflammation or something?

I'd show my MO. I made him feel a hard lump in my neck that was a bone. But still better safe than not.

I would absolutely call BS or MO. Any new lump, especially a hard one, needs to be evaluated.

    Hoping it is benign

Definitely have it checked and possibly biopsied unless someone can tell you for sure what it is. A negative mammo or ultrasound is only part of the work up. I am currently in treatment for a second primary breast cancer 13 years post bilateral mastectomies for IDC and DCIS. About a year ago I noticed a lump under my right arm. Four medical professionals checked it and thought it was benign. (I'm a women's health NP/nurse midwife )ultrasound was normal. A couple of months ago it started to feel uncomfortable so I went to a surgeon to have it excised. She thought it was benign and almost didn't take it out. But it was a lobular cancer. Now I've had a wide excision and ANLD. More nodules with cancer were found but the lymph nodes are negative. Will definitely get rads, but hopefully won't need chemo. This experience confirmed my belief thatAll lumps and nodules should be checked and,if they don't go away-biopsied.

Thanks all for the responses!!! Since i posted this, I had the hard nodule on my chest checked by my RO and MO and both said nothing to worry about. I go back to MO this Thursday and think I will tell him I want something else done. The tingling is worse now with pain up into my neck. Nodule doesn't feel any bigger though. If I'm not satisfied with answers, will probably schedule follow up with breast surgeon. I'm guessing it's best to be labeled paranoid than miss something? I appreciate all of yal!!!

The nodule could easily be a scar or some sort (even though it's inside), but since you're having symptoms you definitely need the whole situation checked out.

If you're worried about being thought paranoid, bring up the tingling and the pain instead of the nodule. A nerve is activated somewhere and getting worse. I have no idea what could be causing it but they will.
