Thank you for the warm welcome.... I am certainly not trying to scare anyone, I am just giving my account for how things have went since I had my first surgery on 2/16.

    However, 4 days later....

the morning of 3/27, I went to go take my compression bra off and reach both of my arms back, and I felt like a pop and my incision on my left breast opened up underneath and yellow fluid started to POUR out! I was wailing! As I knew then that I was going to have a third surgery, to remove the tissue expander. called my mom, she met me at the doctor's and sure enough the PS said, I need to schedule you today if possible for a removal of the infected tissue expander. when I tell you, I was boo hoo crying, I probably scared some people in the next room of the doctor's office! I was in the hospital for 4 days as the nurses, directed by Infectious disease ran about 4 bags of IV bags of antibiotics through me. I am going to let my left side breast area heal and I will have to decide in 3-5 months what I want to do as far as reconstruction, if anything.

toughiebird.....I had that kind of pain too. From what I can figure there are different causes and types of pain going on. The burning prickly feeling is neurotrophic, I think, meaning from stretched or damaged nerves. That should resolve, although mine stuck around for three weeks or so. Some people take gabapentin or lyrica for it. That pain drove me crazy. Just hang in there. It will pass. The heavy tightness in my case was from tissue expanders under my pecs . That slowly and eventually gets better, although if you're having fills each one will set you back.
