Hi Virginia, and welcome to Breastcancer.org,
We're sorry you find yourself here, but we're really glad you found us. You're sure to get great information and support here from others who have been where you are. We know right now things can feel overwhelming, but as you learn more about your diagnosis, the better you'll feel about handling your treatment and getting a plan in place.
Can you tell us what your biopsy results showed? Do you know what type of cancer your doctors are suspecting? We're sure you'll have more information after the mastectomy, but any information you have now can help us direct you to forums and other members who can help.
In addition, there's some good information on the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Hematoma. Have you told your doctor what you're experiencing?
We hope this helps and we look forward to hearing more from you soon, and supporting you the whole way!

I was just palpating my lump yesterday, after biopsy swelling went down (had biopsy on the 28th). The lump feels totally different, bigger. I hope it's still just swelling/scarring around it and a clip marker. Hope this is the case for you as well. You must have had some imaging prior to biopsy, so I would assume the measurements were made then.
I didn't get any bad bruising or bleeding from the biopsy, but 6 days later the skin around the lump is all yellow, like an old bruise. Don't think it was ever blue or green, or any other lovely color bruises go through.

Virginia, I am also wondering about your bc stats. Sometimes, it is very helpful to meet with an MO prior to surgery, as some bc types now come with neo-adjuvant chemo recommendations (chemo prior to surgery) for maximum benefit. Depending on your hormone receptor status, your Her2 status and the size of your lump, you may want to schedule that consult first. If you post your stats in your sig line and then make them public, the wonderful knowledgeable women here on these boards can advise you better on your particular situation.

Sorry you have a hematoma from the biopsy---I had one too from my MRI biopsy. It was painful. Lots of ice. Has your healthcare team evaluated the hematoma? I was seen the next day and it was nice to have them look at it for peace of mind.
