I can't help but just feel like this mass is NOT going to end up being benign.

I'm already trying to plan what I will do with a cancer diagnosis.

Can someone explain how your breast looks after a lumpectomy?

I'm a model. I really can't have 1 breast be misshapen. I'm thinking if it's cancerous, maybe I will just have a double masectomy and get implants.

Is that something my insurance would pay for, do you guys think? What are the pros/cons of doing so?

It's funny that i'm more worried about my career than I am my health :p I do think we caught this mass at an early stage so I'm not TOO worried about potential cancer as I am the effects of treatment.

thx.

I am really bummed at the prospect of losing my breasts, though.

All through my 20s I was flat chested and only got breasts in my 40s, and I really love the way they look :( Now I feel like they're turning on me :(

swg, don't get ahead of yourself. Take one day at a time, and deal with the results as they come in. No use in worrying/planning for treatment/surgery before you have a diagnosis.

We're all sending our good thoughts your way, and hoping for benign results. Please keep us posted on the results.

I know you're scared, but you are just borrowing trouble. Don't grieve something that hasn't happened and may never happen. It's a huge time and energy suck.

As for lumpectomy scars, mine was long, but completely concealed by the crease in my armpit. My sister's scar has completely faded away.

Mastectomy is NOT the same as a boob job. Don't even go there unless you have too.

I will definitely keep you guys posted. I hope I'm wrong. I just don't have a good feeling about this.

swg, since you've already had a biopsy, you don't have long to wait to actually KNOW what is going on in your breast, so I agree with mustlovepoodles, 'don't borrow trouble', try to wait for facts.

I would also encourage you to stick to one thread, as there are folks who are following your other threads and it may be difficult for you to remember to update all of them when you get additional information. In the future, when women come looking through threads that seem to be similar to their situation, and the thread just ends with no conclusion (typically those women who get b9 results), they're left wondering what happened. Also, the women who respond to each thread don't have the benefit of the additional information that you shared on the other threads.

Continuing to wish you good luck in b9 results and hopefully soon!
