Double Nipple Sparing Mastectomy - before/after photos?
Hello ladies!
I'm currently undergoing reconstruction. Was diagnosed with DCIS (ER+/PR+) in my left breast in March 2017. Lots of breast cancer in my family. Tested negative for BRCA1& BRCA2 but decided to proceed w/ a double nipple sparing mastectomy (recommended by my surgery team). Pathology from my 1st round of surgery (in May) returned that I had LCIS + DCIS in my right breast too. I'm not having/haven't had radiation or chemo.
Question: I'm having problems finding before/after pics, comprehensive resources & threads discussing cases similar to mine. I'm anxious about the unknown, trying to set realistic expectations and gain a better understanding of what my outcome may be. My surgeon is very experienced with this procedure/reputable. Unfortunately their office recently had a data storage issue and they lost a lot of their before/after photo files. Is there a thread on this forum with before/after pics of double nipple sparing mastectomies? Or can someone recommend a comprehensive resource or thread about this procedure? Will be happy to post before/after pics of my results once I have completed the process and have them. I currently have expanders in and am in the midst of reconstruction process.
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

here's the thing- you can pull pics all day long. But if the pics are not of your PS's work, they are really not worth much to you individually. Nipple sparing should give you the best appearance skin-wise as they are nothaving to graft/transplant any new skin into place. Overall appearance will depend on skill of surgeon, incision/stitching technique he uses, size and placement of implants. I realize we've gone digital these days but I find it very hard to believe the dr didn't have any hard copies of his work.

People can't post pics of their boobs, before and/or after surgery, without specific permission from adms. You can ask for access to the picture forum, which MAY have the pics you're looking for.

He had some pics of his work but almost all of the photos he had involved cases that were very different from mine
Thank you so much

no offense, I hope that site with the pictures have gotten easier to navigate. In this day and age, it shouldn't be that difficult to search for or post pics to a website.
And I disagree with only needing to see your PS' work. Ever flipped through ANY PS' work and seen a not so good after pic? I had radiation and can find hardly any pics of a reconstructed radiated breast. I would much rather see pics from then owner of the breasts; good and bad. I've yet to run across any bC discussion board that allows it. You'd think we were back in the 50s 😒

Mrssoul:
The picture forum has quite a few nipple-sparing pictures. I have used it because I had NS-BMX as well. Just had Exchange on Thursday and went back to review tissue expander to implant pics on the site. I found not only the pictures but the comments to be very helpful.
GOOD luck.
