Long Term Effects of Arimidex

I was on Arimidex for 3 1/2 years. Last March I was taken off of it due to significant bone mass loss in three years, diagnosed with RA and severe osteoarthritis and pseudo gout.

I am now facing knee, wrist and hip surgery. The doctor's are waiting for me to be off of it for six months. I am approaching six months and I'm still having side effects like hot flashes.

Those of you that have ended treatment of Arimidex, how long did it take for it to be out of your system

I was on AIs for ten months, Tamoxifen before and after. The joints improved slowly, though it was many months. I quit Tamoxifen in April. My Achilles' tendons have quit barking, my knees are improved, as are my hands. I'm down from from two Alleve per day, to one. I still have tsunami hot flashes, a couple per hour. Six months sounds like a good time frame.

Years, it does get better but it lingers the aches and pains, still have ringing ears. I still see improvements after 2 years.
