Anyone else have this? I was having a severe pain since last Wednesday and then Friday a huge dent appeared under my surgical breast. I mentioned it to my radiation team yesterday and they said they thought it was just a pulled muscle. Ok. Then as the day went on...I decided I wanted to talk to my surgeon so I set up an appointment with her after my radiation today. She mentioned it was either scar tissue causing issues even thought my incision is high on my breast Or Mondors Disease. Both options not common. Tonight when I was applying my lotion I saw the "cords" and he pain came back when I hit the spot. I sent her an email with a photo and asking what to do with treatment.

    Hi Pry72, I had the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I felt pain in my ribcage and felt this vertical line under my skin and panicked. It brought me back to when I felt the lump in my breast. Turned out, it is an after-effect of surgery called "Cording" "Mondors Cord" or "Auxiliary Web Syndrome." some people get it in their underarm where lymph nodes were taken out. It's basically a swollen, inflated blood vessel and the doctor told me to put a warm compress and take ibuprofen as needed until it goes away eventually. My last surgery was in March, so I was very surprised. Mine seems to have gotten better in time, hope yours got better as well.

    Oh I think I had that, although I didn't know what it was. It felt like two short cords from my ribcage to where colon transverses. It really scared me. But after a few days it went away. It did not feel good to press on, I was afraid it would bleed. Never heard of Mondors

    Yes, I still have it randomly. The "dent" goes away, but the cords are still somewhat visible and painful at times. I've stayed on the ibuprofen, but due to the burns from radiation under my breast I can no longer stand the warm compresses. What was amazing was that none of the techs were familiar with it!
