Hi, I was not sure where to post this. My sister in laws friend was dx recently and has very high deductable and co-pay on ins. and she was recently layed off of work so they are one income. She is very concerned about how she is going to pay for the approx $5000 she will owe after treatment is done. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of agencies or a website I could direct her to that can help with bc treatment costs? Thanks for any advice I can pass along.....I just thought I remembered a while back someone mentioning assistance that was available.

The Patient Advocate foundation helped me with all my co-pays for chemotherapy. You might check with the American Cancer Society - they probably have many resources listed.
My oncologist office also had materials from different organizations (can't remember the name of them) that offer assistance. There is help out there its just a matter of finding it.
    Good luck!

My oncologist office offers free financial counseling to help people find resources. Also, my mom (who works in a hospital) advises getting in touch with a hospital social worker for any services provided by the hospital.

    Thanks-

I will tell her to check with her onc's office and maybe I will check on-line at the ACS. Thanks for the help!
