I was diagnosed Aug 7 surgery Aug15 I had a left mastectomy with 4 lymph nodes removed and expanders were put in at that time

My lump was 3cm and lymph nodes were negative margins negative

I saw oncologist last week and she recommended chemo due to the fact that I am triple negative

I have don't research on chemo some people get sick some don't- just not really sure if I should do it with my lymph nodes being negative, my understanding is this is just precautionary to make sure I have no cancer cells floating around in my body that can attach themselves elsewhere

Can I get other ladies opinions and thoughts or experiences

ohiostatemom, welcome to BCO! Have you checked out the Triple Negative bc forum? I think you will find ladies with more specific info for you and perhaps some other threads where people have questions similar to your own. You can find it here: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/72

    Good luck!

Have you talked with your doctor about the MammaPrint test? This type of testing can help determine your risk of recurrence within 10 years and help make additional treatment decisions. You can read more about this type of test on the main Breastcancer.org site's page MammaPrint Test.

We hope this helps and we hope to hear more from you soon!
